A new animated series......

Post by Scraplet » Sun Jul 17, 2005 12:59 am

......to tie in with the new movie?

http://www.transformerslive.com/board/s ... d.php?t=67
Apparently Paramount will also be releasing a direct-to-video CGI animated tie-in (prequel? War Within adaptation?).
Has anyone got any more info on this? is it true?

Robert Zemeckis considered directing, but p***ed long ago.
Spielberg wants an 80s Amblin' "Back to the Future" tone, with a "Jur***ic Park" brachiosaur moment as a big reveal.
And I thought WE had a strict language filter.
Mark Hamill and Michael J. Fox are current fan favorites to play Starscream and Bumblebee, respectively.
wtf.
Many of the writers, producers, etc. were fans of the comics and TV show in the 80s.
Get people who don't hate Transformers to make a Transformers movie? Genius!
Don is going to show some fan-made DVDs of favorite TF moments to Bay.
Just when I had blocked that fact from my mind.....
Spielberg has become a major corporate driving force in the production.
I know Spielberg is God, but I'm not sure he as an individual has been incorporated.

Hamill is ace as the Joker in BTAS, think he could do a good screamer.

Oddly I agree with Besters, there's nothing off about Hamill doing Screamers.

Now, TF made in the WEST cgi, is likely to be da shiznit. Ace.

About the Fan-DVD's.. Please dear, dear sweet mother of all things good, tell me that those among this board who talked about doing such DVD's with the comics for Mr. Murphy at the time it was up, did so?! Otherwise we're doomed! Now, if not..why didn't ya?

Yet the peanut gallery is strangely silent on Michael J. Fox as Bumblebee...

And he played a nutty Joker-like character in the 'Flash' telemovies. That were some fun film.
Hamill rocks as a voice actor! And I can easily imagine him doing Starscream (not 'doing' him, obviously - that's just be wrong).

I'm not one for using famous names for something like this (its got to be about the character, not actor) but I've got to admit that would be spot on casting.

How many people really knew that Fox was the voice of Stewart Little or that Hamill has done cartoon voices for loads of shows? Did anyone really care about all of the famous voices touted about during the advertising of Shark's Tale (although that film sucked)? Hell, if I hadn't already known that it was Jack black as the main shark, I'd not have twigged it - he didn't even sound like himself (which was a blessed relief).
If the people can do the job well, then surely that's better than the current Hollywood flavour of the month who can't.
Fox and Hamill aren't as famous as they used to be, so I'd imagine that most of the fuss will be over whatever famous faces play the human characters in the TF film. The cartoon series won't probably have those people in it either.
As long as the voices fit, and aren't full of dodgy accents, then I'll be happy.
Did anyone see the CGI Spider-Man TV show? That was kinda cool. At the very least, I'd be happy to see the TF show look a bit like that. Although BETTER would be better.

I wouldn't mind that 'Rockfish' style for a TF show. I always thought that the 'Starship Troopers' CG show would be a good style for TF too.

*Raises hand*

It was obvious. The guy always sounds the same. That's where I don't like big names as voice actors. If the voice is exactly the same as the voice they use for everything else, I dunno, it kind of takes a bit away from the 'feel' of the show or event. Hamill is surprising awsome at voice acting. I was utterly shocked when I learned he did the Joker in BTAS.

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.

The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Okay, I can see a sudden influx of posters to prove me wrong.
I recognised his voice, I just didn't think it was him. It all depends on who Fox would be playing - any ideas?
Optimus Prime?
The Voice of the Matrix? :p

I think it'll be alright, talk of a third movie with Unicron in it, CGI series to beef up the storyline, Fox and Hamill both work for me.

I just hope everyone supports this film. Look at The Hulk and Godzilla, both films weren't that great (I did enjoy them though) but both films had to introduce everything from scratch and as a result the films didn't do well. howefver IMO both these films could've had amazing sequels, pitty they probably never will. I don't want to see this happen to a TF movie.

What bothers me though is that all the TF's qill have Earth based alternate modes, what is Shockwave gonna be? Secondly it looks as though Soundwave will be a helicopter, not happy with that.

Then there's Bumblebee, I heard that VW don't want their hippy car to be associated with war. So Herbie aside, we ain't getting a VW Beetle Bumblebee. Silly sods sales probably would've gone through the roof!
