What are the general opinions of what life was like on Cybertron during the times of Beast Wars? Were Autobots and Decepticons still present on Cybertron? Or were they all decomissioned or deactivated in some way? How do you think peace was maintained? With an iron fist or a brotherly hand?
In writing I find myself wondering more and more about the era Primal and company came from. What was it like exactly? Forgive my bored mind rambling through my fingertips...

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Autobots and Decepticons still exist, though not many because they take so much energon to maintain.
Anyways, the Predacons (and presumably and Decepticon survivors) don't live on Cybertron anymore. Part of the PEace agreement was that they would be exiled. The Preds all live on those Moons we saw in Beast Machines or space stations. The Cons either sitll are on Charr, or other Decepticon colony worlds.
The Preds have a ruling body, but it's subservient to the Maximals Council/Convoy Council (Not if the Preds have anything to say about it though). Predacons aren't allowed on Cybertron, or else they become criminals.

Also not to forget, is that a consideral portion of Maximal/Predacon population is composed by upgraded/maximized Autobot - Decepticon survivors.
Apparently a few of the favs are still operational, Ironhide, Prowl and Silverbolt are part of Maximal-council combiner Magnaboss. Rodimus is no longer a Prime, but a matrix-templar. One of several ones pertaining to an organisation similar to that of the like of the Priest who guarded Primus, and the lot that helped Prime contact the Matrix in G2, except a bit more open and pro-active. One of the heads of this org. as of now is Alpha Trion.
He's also a peace-marshall, the police really, keeping the streets of Cybertron clean of the con-scum.
Courtesy of the convention-comics.
Judging from the bio-card of Grimlock, he is indeed still active, and apparently doing some rough-necking, "battle against interstellar tyranny". He presumably is part of some off-world forces of the Maximals that keeps the cons in line in the galaxy, and on their colonies.

Thanks for the input guys! But do recall this is strictly opinions being stated. Canon-wise we know very little, and Pred's post works only if you're talking about the universe that the convention comics are set in.ShadowSonic wrote:Actually, Most Maxies and Preds are entirely new beings, the older Bots and Cons either all died or retired to other worlds. Only a few became Maximals and Predacons (Grimlock, Ravage)
Really though, thanks for replying. I thought for bit this might end up as one of those embarassing topics that get a gazillion views but zero replies as it slowly dies off the page.

Well, remember tat there are at least two Silverbolts and Prowls in BW.
One is the noble knight winged werewolf we all know and love, who later became the hardened bitter Ronin warrior type in BM. Obviously a new fellow, and not the G1er.
Then we have the Magnaboss Silverbolt, know may or may not be the G1er, reformatted into being part of the new combiner.
Then there's the Prowl problem, since the TMII Prowl is supposed to eb the G1er, so what's the Magnaboss Prowl?
The Vehicons in BM are supposed to be representations of what true Cybertronians look like. They don't have much of a disguise anymore becuase...well TFs is a part of their race, and been done for millions of years. It wouldn't be much of a disguise on their own world, so that's why they have heads in vehicle mode.
There's also the moon question. There are theories that the Moons we saw in BM are where the Predacons live, and the same moon has those enormous claw marks on them.
There are three theories for where the claw marks came from:
1) This moon was a survivor from the Unicron attack in the Movie, and got the scarring as a result. Or maybe Unicron somehow came back between G1 and BM, and attacked again.
2) It's damage from one of the battles in the Great War that wasn't repaired.
3) It was done by Megatron himself when he returned and conquered Cybertron, attacking all surrounding colonies.
There are also some really good theories of tying the Japanese BW shows together with the American one to lead up to BM.
Wann hear it?

Okey-Dokey.
BW II and BW Neo happen concurrently with BW, only they are in the present (300 years future) and take place in other space sectors.
See, the backstory is that there was a rebel Predacon group headed by Cryotek (BW Megs' mentor), who masterminded the plot to steal Maximal ships and use them to advance the Pred cause.
Cryotek stayed behind, BW Megs and his crew stole the Golden Disk and used it to go to the past with Primal in hot pursuit, while BW Galvatron and his crew went to Gaia to find the Angelo energy pods and was pursued by Lio-Convoy. Magmatron then also goes after the Angelero/whatever energy pods and is pursued by Big Convoy.
Anyways, they find out that the energy is really Unicron's essence trying to get a new body, and that the Blendtrons are Unicron Spawns also trying to ressurect their master.
Unicron posesses BW Galvatron and uses him to attack Cybertron, killing the Tripredacus council and the Convoy Council/Maximal Elders and desvestating Cybertron. He plans to posess Vector Sigma and make Cybertron his new body.
Magamtron and Big Convoy team up and manage to destroy Unicron for good, and the surviving Maxies and Preds unite as a single race.
Then Primals' team returns from the Beast Wars of the past, and Megatron escapes.
Seeing how his brethren have abandoned their name and are co-existing with the Maxies, he declares them unworthy of his new order and exterminates them along with the Maxies when he unleashes his virus.
Also, Cybertron's devestated state makes it easy for him to conquer the planet.

Ditto here. I've never watched too much Beast Wars, except for the ones involving the G1 storylines and the end of the show. And I watched the start of BM too, which I loved.
Definetly not a fan of the toys, but I love the story and how it fits into the other continuities. VERY enlightening and enjoyable reading. Thanks, ShadowSonic.
And once again, thanks for the cool topic, SC.
