In the wake of the Dreamwave bankruptcy, spare a thought for one of its biggest victims, Pat Lee. How has his lifestyle been affected?
Pat has recently been seen driving his Porsche around Toronto, visiting his favourite coffee shop-- Just Desserts-- where he recruited coffee server Derek Choo-wing there as his Business Manager and other managerial staff.
One sacrifice Pat has had to make it to change his licence plate, which used to read DW CEO but now has a regular plate. Apparently although the car was company owned, Pat was able to pay it off before Dreamwave went bankrupt and transfer the ownership to himself.
Pat has now moved out of his parents house and has recently moved into a brand new condominium.
Lee is currently working for Marvel on "Iron Man." Dreamwave creators still continue to be owed large sums of money, including having to pay FedEx bills that DreamWave didn't cover. Pat Lee is also relaunching "Cyberforce" with Ron Marz for Top Cow.
Just Desserts is located at 300 West Beaver Creek Rd, Richmond Hill, Toronto.

I love when that two-worded label shows up. One of my favorite places to visit (though I haven't been there in years now) is the Avon/Beaver Creek area of Colorado. They've got a great beer-run store there; Beaver Liquers, no joke.
Man, I hate Pat Lee.
Man, I hate Pat Lee.
Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

I haven't been anywhere near any kind of beaver in ages.Señior's Covenant wrote:though I haven't been there in years now
What's his new plate number? We could put out the word to disgruntled TF fans in Beaver *singger* and get them to keep an eye out for his car. Then they could f*ck his sh*t up.
In a n*ce way, of course.
And I'm not 'Man' - I'm 'Bloke.

Slight hi-jacking of the thread to just post some more goss that doesn't really need it's own topic.
IDW will be promoting Transformers in San Diego at their booth, and will be having a Q+A that will presumably include info about it during the show.
So if you're interested, keep an eye on the comics reportage sites/blogs for anything of note.
The Beat is pretty good, but has been having some reliablility problems of late. Doubt it will go down tho. Most of the other decent comic sites that will be carrying stuff from Nerd-Prom are linked on the main-page.

Mate, I know it sucks, I liked the little yellow minicon too, but Armada is over. Finished. We have to move on.Best First wrote:but what about the Sparkplug mini series?Peter David, signing copies of his new Spike one-shot
Weird seeing folks like Peter David up on the same Q+A panel as the Hasbro and TF peeps. Weird but good.

Additional hijacking of thread for comic and IDW news from the new ToyFare magazine:
WW3 and Energon -
Old Marvel - Huh? I don't get it. What's the matter with the Titan TPBs? Who's going to buy these new collections?
Mini Series - AWESOME!
Toys - Duh.
Humans - meh. Sounds fine.- The human characters that will be featured in the on-going Generation One series will be a teenaged runaway, a drifter/street kid, and a conspiracy theorist who is heavily involved in the idea that Transformers do exist among people
- They would like to finish up Dreamwave's old series of War Within Volume 3 and Transformers Energon
- They will be releasing the old Marvel comics in "best of" collections, put together by Simon Furman
- There will be out of continuity mini-series featuring well-known artists and writers doing their own take on the Transformers. The series is tentatively known as "Transformers Evolution", and will be similar to D.C. Comics "Elseworlds"
- IDW is in talks with Hasbro about making a toy of some sorts

If anyones interested, here's a little tidbit, the DreamWave assets are up for sale now.
http://www.newsarama.com/forums/showthr ... adid=38606
This part is of noticable interest:
"As for Dreamwave’s unsold Transformers inventory, reportedly, Hasbro (owner of the Transformer property) is the current owner, though it is unclear whether the company had a clause in their agreement with Dreamwave that it would assume ownership of unsold titles in this type of situation, or if Hasbro asserted ownership of the stock as a result of DW’s non-payment of licensing fees owed. Reportedly, the issues are being held in a Diamond warehouse."
You know...what I'd do if I was the mighty COMPUTRON? I'd call up Brendy and Besty, to git deer boouts on a plane, aye? To da states, and then we's break in to da foookin' werehouuse an' git what we wanted!!

Sure is. I's da fookin' chiznit!Autobloke wrote:Must be that new Microsoft Tyneside Edition again.
So, uh..no-one is interested in commenting this news? Really?
Well, here's some more:
"IDW Publishing to Re-Release Some Dreamwave Products
It appears IDW Publishing has obtained the rights to reprint some of the now defunct Dreamwave's comic book products.
It is unknown if they plan to expand beyond these, but Amazon.com recently put up pre-order pages for the following reprinted Dreamwave G1 Trade Paperbacks:
Transformers: Generation One Volume 1 Feb 2006 $19.99
Transformers: Generation One Volume 2 April 2006 $19.99
Transformers: Generation One Volume 3 March 2006 $19.99"

Looks as if maybe the legal hassle around the DW-stories are coming to and end, and the material might be loosening up. Maybe there is a possibility of War Within and Energon seeing a conclusion in tpb-format??
