Behold Galvatron!
And from the shattered remains of Megatron, in the fires of Unicro, Galvatron was born...
The most powerfull of Unicrons creations,
evil and twisted beyond measure?
But just what was Galvatron, was he megatron in a new body, or Galvatron tormented by his past?
The world of Transformers would never be quite the same.
Love him or hate him, its hard to deny his importance
Great character in the comics. By his nature, he was too easy to overuse, though.
I would still prefer to keep Megs and Galvatron separate.
I dislike the purple color scheme his robot form got in the cartoon, though most American 'toon fans like it that way. Too obvious. I liked the mostly-metallic-gray finish.

Galvatron was a great character in the comics. Even though his appearences in Marvel US were few and came late, the way Megatron and Galvatron were allowed to interact was very coolness. I sometimes wonder why Hasbro didn't put more pressure on Marvel US to introduce the movie characters or advance the timeline.
Galvatron cartoon was ridiculous. I can't count the number of times he's flown across the galaxy for Autobots, only to show up, smack Scourge upside the head, and then call for a retreat. Insanity gets old fast, I guess.
Galvatron toy is pretty cool. Definetly WAY better than Rodimus Prime. And you gotta love how his eyes would light up. Shockwave had better sound effects, though.

Galvatron as an unstoppable powerhouse was great in comics. Well, both of them were. Or all three, depends how you look at those things. I love his rivalry with Magnus. Besides being strong like hell, he was quite a smart dude, too. Like when he undermined Shockwave's troops' trust in their leader in Enemy Action (probably my favourite Galvy moment).
I liked him in the Movie, too. With Nimoy's voice and none of his screws loose, he was really good bad guy. In third season though... Well, I can say that Web World is one of my favourite comedy pieces in Transformers, and unlike Carnage in C-Minor it was rather intentional.

I like the last page of UK#86 for a top Galvy scene...a shadow comes out of the flame, the victor of the G/Magnus fight...and it's Galvatron!
I like the way he thumps the defeated Magnus down into the ground, splintering it, not even looking and raising his fist in triumph, a total scary mental smile on his face. Fave Galvy image, that one.
He was actually scary in Target:2006, it was like he could do anything and all the good guys were stuffed.
And there was a good balance between BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA *Blam!* stuff and cool, calculating, man-with-the-plan Galvatron.
Other highpoints for me also balance the two....Enemy Action and his role in the later US comics. Loved the whole plot where he chased Emirate Xaaron around to get him to wake Primus up. Quality.
My interest in him wanes sharply when he's just being mad and shooting at people....the volcano-god period is my least favourite, and I don't find him hugely interesting in Time Wars either.
Still cool, tho. Galvy was always cool.
The calculating comic Galvatron is my favourite characterisation. I don't like cartoon Galvy at all, tho I've only seen about 4 season three epsisodes.
And silver is better, it's shinier.

i prefer the silver as well, but maybe thats just because i grew up with it.
i Think Galvy is cool, but he's also, heh heh, a bit of a plot device.
I think Furman's best charceter remains Grimlock, in terms of development he does far more with him. Gavly's personality is pretty much 'bit of a nutter' from Fallen Angel onwards.
I will always be sad we didn't get to see Mags build on his victory in Salvage.

i thought he was starting to get overused int he uk comic, was glad when he was finally bumped off in time wars, only to come back a few issues later... when he turned up in the us comic i was dissapointed, but furman put him to good use there i felt... although why wasn't fort max surprised to see him in canada? he was there during time wars... he should have known he'd been killed once...

i have always believed that Galvatron was Megatron in his purest form. Unicron stripped away most of the ego, the blinding rage, and insecurity, leaving behind Megatron's best qualities {from a decepticon POV}: cold, ruthless cunning, and a frighteningily briliant mind. until the incident which caused his instabilty Galvatron was quite possibly the most formidable {goddamnit, spell correctly!} enemy the Autobots have ever faced.
i had a longer, involved statement here, but it all comes down to this:
Freedom is the right of all sentient beings, as is justice, peace, and rebelion. and these rights must be protected at all costs.

i think his worst moments were undoubtably the insanity, the constant losses to Magnus dispite the fact that, when he is sane, he owns magnus completely, and the moments in the movie where he becomes rodimus's bitch.Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:what do you think Galvatrons worst moments are?
Just how hard is he in Time Wars?
Pretty unbeatable with Cyclonus and scourge in tow?
havent read time wars yet, cant find the paperback.

galvatron
hands down my favorite decepticon. i like the look from the cartoon better, but boy insaniac screaming megalomaniac from season 3 gets old real quick.
terribly annoying the roddimus toy was about half his size. how can you have a great autobot decepticon leader battle with two toys of unequal sizes. prime and megatron were on much better scale to each other in robot mode.

His initial appearence in the UK comic is one of the most memorable single moments for me. And quite possibly the coolest introduction a charater in the Marvel Run. Stood in the rain flanked by Cyclonus and Scourge........remembering the feelings I had when I first read it still gives me shivers.
And he was right......there is still no weather control system! Unless one gets invented in the next few months
All the talk of the multiple timelines and multiple Galvis Every time this topic comes up I swear I'm gonna re-read everything so that I can contribute.....then the topic arises again and I realise I've not done it yet
