Well, accessing the board, tbh. The domain shift still screws up my cookies. I can access the site and board through the transfans.net address, but I have to switch to the tfarchive3 domain suffix to be able to post anything. The board autoforwards me, but it just takes longer as it returns me to the index page in doing so. Not tricky to find my way back to where I was, but it's just time consuming.

A general TF discussion forum? Sometimes if I have the desire to compare BW to G1, it's difficult to know which place to put it in.
What are your favourite things about Transfans?
The people. The substance-over-style approach to content. Very clean, no big flashing "LOOK AT ME!" graphics. The general air of "yeah, we're going to analyse a comic in too-much-depth, but that doesn't mean we're going to take ourselves seriously whilst doing it."
Computron. He smells funny.What are your least favourite things about Transfans?
As said above, an air of serious-but-self-awareness.What does Transfans have that other sites do not?
Big annoying "LOOK AT ME" banners. Big marquee fanboy newsposts about the most trivial and irrelevant things imaginable. A message board full of dribbling fanboy idiots.What does Transfans lack that other sites have?

I like the staff, agree with all their policies and have no intent of ever overthrowing them in a coup and installing myself as Grand Despot, officer.

The "search" bar at the bottom could be changed to say "site search" as I keep trying to use it to search the board.

Sometimes the site and the board won't load, but I guess it's server's fault, because TFArchive isn't working at these times, either.

Tomb of Relics is empty at the mo. If it won't be used, it can go away. And I guess there at least couple of topics good enough to put them there.

Not particulary. There might be a separate forum for sports, but I don't think it is necessary.

For board, it's people, many interesting things in GD and domination of comic-oriented topics in G1. For site, it's mainly comic reviews handled in very good way and other related stuff.

Nothing comes to mind now.

I really like it here because you can have a good comic discussion here without having a Furman basher come in who'll only "it's bad, because it was written by Furman".

We could use some more active members, there's tons of guys in the members database who've never posted here.

I come here for the ppl, the serious speed of the site - the more comic orientated peeps here.
I belive the front end of the site could do with more razz-ma-taz!
For example, perhaps the front page could randomly pick out toy reviews, comic reviews or episode guides on a daily basis?
Do the admins/mods do a good job? If not, why not?
I like the staff - ive always seen the good in the judgement they hand out on issues.
When it comes to the crunch egos do not seem present and thats a good thing. some other sites out there are ego trips on fire.

Not much, we dont really lack anything, I feel that some of our reasource could be on better display via the front page.What does Transfans lack that other sites have?
For example, perhaps the front page could randomly pick out toy reviews, comic reviews or episode guides on a daily basis?
Do the admins/mods do a good job? If not, why not?
I like the staff - ive always seen the good in the judgement they hand out on issues.
When it comes to the crunch egos do not seem present and thats a good thing. some other sites out there are ego trips on fire.

Well, having bookmarked the board, it did take me about a week to realise the forum was active on the new server. The default phpBB 'this forum is temporarily closed' message isn't that useful.

The comics guide is ordered by pages rather than issue numbers, making it awkward to browse. Having a search function is handy, but not positioned obviously and not a substitute for clear indexing. I'd also like to see more navigation links in consistent positions on the right-hand side of the page. I'd be interested to see if the site design would allow for fewer things being handled with javascript, as it makes it more awkward to link to things (for most people; I just get popups in new Firefox tabs...) It would be nice to have more detailed information on site updates; a section and a title don't give much, and it's rather impersonal.

No, just a consistency in the rules of the boards. Certain 'grown-up' topics and expletive words don't seem to bat any eyelids, but others seem to be surefire ways of getting banned. Relax the agenda and make it uniform, and let the parents do the parenting. Short of inline pictures of Tubgirl, furtive links to hostage beheadings, and trolling, the boundaries of the fora could be redefined.

It's different to most big TF boards, like Seibertron and Allspark, which are dominated by two-plank-thick dickwad cartoon zealots. I'm much more at home amongst one-plank-thick dickwad comic zealots. *wink*

I like the site. The forums are good for a quick read. They could be even better. I use the boards, mostly. Occasionally, I browse the comic reviews. The interviews are also good (Transfans asks quite good questions in past interviews).

Since the move, I have to log in through the PM system in order to get that lovely new post streetlight glow. If I try through the 'log in' function I get told I'm logged in, but don't get the streetlights on. Then when I go to post, it turns out I'm not actually logged in and have to try again, etc.
I was presuming it was a problem on my end.
Also, attempting to use the PM system used to freeze my browser. I think this was a firefox issue that has now been fixed. Thankfully.

I'm not hugely fussed, but the discussion forums other than G1/2 and GD are rather quiet. Considering Beast Wars is well past finished and the comic wont be showing up til next year, does it need its own forum? I woulnd't mind if it or the others got merged with G1/2, but then I don't mind the current layout either.

Mainly thinking of the G1 forum...high quality of atmosphere, posts and discussion has declined of late; Transfans is no longer free of spam and dead weight posts, at least to my mind. Posts sometimes now seem to be allowed here that wouldn't be put up with at sites that have reputations for being largely infested by kids, spammers and retards.
A casual attitude is great when it isn't abused by people who think they are OMG FUN GUY BOBBY LOL11!!1 When it is, it becomes a joke, esp in a place with a rep for intelligent posting.

Little bibs and bobs like letters pages and other hard-to-locate bumpf from the comics. A comfortably low-key layout and profile. Interesting mix of Europeans, Internationals (from my pov, sorry) and Space Aliens. A high standard of discussion, normally.

A whole load of things but do you actually want them? Things Transfans lacks that I'm glad about - kids and morons.

The ones that I see active, yes. However, uniformity of approach to issues seems lacking sometimes. Site staff did a superb job with the comic reviews and currently do a great job in kickstarting topics, which is appreciated.

I'm gonna take a stand on principle and say that RiD and Armada/Energon/Cybertron should really be seperate forums. I know that it's not really feasable, since RiD doesn't get enough posts to warrant a seperate forum (in fact, I can't recall ever seeing an RiD post here...but then, I don't go into that forum often) but RiD is an entirely seperate mythos, and in a perfect world it should have it's own area to avoid confusion.
On a similar tack, Universe really should be a part of the BW/BM forum, since it's a halfassed continuation of the BW/BM continuity.
What are your favourite things about Transfans?
I'll agree with Brend here...the people are what makes Transfans great. It's one of the few TF boards that you can go to with a reasonable expectation that there won't be frothing-at-the-mouth fanboy idiots charging around underfoot. Almost all of the regulars are intelligent (if not necessarily mature... ), express themselves well, and have at least some level of common sense.

Website really doesn't offer much outside of the small forum. This is probably for the better, because there are already a half-dozen really superb websites that give you all the information you need.

A small user group. I feel lost and puny when I try to go into a larger forums with hundreds of members.

Yes. They are good at controlling people who are vulgar, profane, flamers and trolls. They provide fodder for discussion and make sure that each thread is in the proper forum. I don't really know what more you could ask for.

What are your least favourite things about Transfans?
Website really doesn't offer much outside of the small forum. This is probably for the better, because there are already a half-dozen really superb websites that give you all the information you need.
What does Transfans have that other sites do not?
A small user group. I feel lost and puny when I try to go into a larger forums with hundreds of members.
What does Transfans lack that other sites have?
If the RPG was up and running, that would be great.
Do the admins/mods do a good job? If not, why not?
Yes. They are good at controlling people who are vulgar, profane, flamers and trolls. They provide fodder for discussion and make sure that each thread is in the proper forum. I don't really know what more you could ask for.

Judging by most of the General Discussions, you could task-manage a bit by just opening up a "beer" forum.

Emvee let me sleep on his couch and Besty bought me a Coke. Everyone is a kind, friendly, caring person.

Very few fans of Mad Brick.

Youthful enthusiasm.

I think so. I don't mind the spam and funny offhand comments, but I see how it derails the threads.
