Before the end of the Time Wars Soundwave and his 'cons flee 1989 to return to 2009. The question is, where did they end up? We know when Rodimus and co returned to the future it had been radically changed: Galvatron was leader and the Decepticons had won.
So, was Soundwave on an alternate timeline, ruling the world in Rodimus Prime's absence?
Was he on the same timeline as Rodimus, but now serving under Galvatron?
Did he cease to exist? (can't think why)
Or was he collecting his Transfans 2005 Favourite Decepticon Character Award..?
Answers on a postcard please...

Okay, some day I have to sit down and thoroughly read Time Wars.
I didn't even know (that?) Soundwave and the Terrorcons were from the future. That would explain my confusion though.

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

IMO, as Soundwave and the Terrorcons return to the future before the Time Storms dies out, they get returned to the future they came from. Unfortunately, that future gets rewritten by the Time Storm's death, so they simply get erased from existence, along with Daniel 'Barbarella' Witwicky, Spike 'Hairy Gallagher-brother eyebrows' Witwicky, and 'Gold-plated' Autobot City: Earth.
Now, obviously, Transformers don't wear clothes, and are made of metal, so all their colouring would fade to the basic silvery colour of metal.
Simple, see?
No idea what Besty was on about, btw.
It's real simple. In a double-episode of that dire Battlestar Galactica spin-off, Galactica 1980, they go back in time to prevent the renegade Galactican from altering Earth's history towards a Nazi victory. Their clothing turns white due to the time-travel effects.Autobloke wrote:I don't get it.

Remember that G1 episode where they went to a negative universe, and everyone was painted horribly, but they only stayed there for like two seconds?Autobloke wrote:They should have repainted the future characters so we could tell the difference. They do it all the time in TF series these days.
MAN, that was some wasted potential for a story, let alone a bunch of repaint jokes.

Well theGalvatron in ASpects of Evil never referred to know Rodimus travelled in time..
Ergo,I think only Rod and co. arrived back into a future that was changed while they were away. It's like they arrived in a paralell universe...
It's widely possible that that future already had a Rodimus Prime, who was killed prior to the another R.arriving.
Confused? Me too.

I take the whole pre-time storm/post-timestormt hing as thus:
Soundwvae and his crew returned to the future before the storm ended, and so they returned to the future as they remembered it, but when the time storm ended the timeline was rewritten, and the future everyone came from was totally destroyed and rewritten into a new one.
Since Rodimus and co styaed in the past until everything changed, they were unaffected, time changed around them, but the changes didn't affect them.
Thus, when they returned everything was differant EXCEPT them.
What I want to know is, in the new timeline Rodimus and co still had to go back to the past, otherwise everyone in the future would've been "why'd you go into the past? THere's no reason" when they returned, since Rodimus never mentioned anything like that in "Aspects of Evil" it mean that in the revised timeline they still had a reason to go back to the past (couldn't have been for Galvatron). WHAT WAS THAT REASON?!

Shockwave didn't do EVERYTHING. Unicron helped bring him back, Vector Sigma cuased the Great Shutdown, Shockers' simply accelerated the natural evolution of the TF race with Triple-Chnagers, Duocons, etc.
"Shockwvae did it" is a bit of an over-generalization, don't you think? It's like saying "Tarantulas did it" for most of the important stuff in Beast Wars...

It's a joke SS, or 'running gag' to be more exact.

I know
It's just never been that funny to me...
Anyways, any idea on that time-travel issue we were discussing?
Geez, I really wish that they had gotten the guys who wrote the time-travel episodes of the old X-Men cartoon (The episodes with Bishop and Cable) to help out on their time-travel stories, they actually did it RIGHT and in a sensical fashion...

I think "Shockwave did it" will ALWAYS be pretty funny to me.
Besides, it's only been around since DW, b/c DW really DID have Shockers behind everything.

And the Micromasters, and all upgrading of Cybertron-based Transformers to Earth alt. modes on select few for no well-explained reason, and the Ark II blowing up on Earth, and total manipulation of everyone and everything, and Ultra Magnus' placement in a position of authority, and the creation of Triplechangers and Duocons, and Pat Lee's spending habit, and so on and so forth.ShadowSonic wrote:...he was only behind the Great Restoration,...

He was behind the Micros? I thought Vector Sigma did that.
Anywho, the Triple-Changers and presumably the Ducocons were really evolving on their own, he just accelerated the process.
I never understood why they changed Halo destroying the Ark to Shcokwave doing it, why not just say he convinced Halo to do it, but it was still Halo?
