Skelator's Summer job ^_^ :D

Quality character. Good example of what Furman could do in his prime and left to his own devices.

I tremble in fear of what the cartoon would have done to him if it wasn't cancelled. He would have most likely become a faceless minion that would have been beaten by Wheelie in every episode.

Now back to reality, Bludgeon is one of my favorite characters, he's achieved more then most other Decepticon leaders ever did. Even Megatron regretted that he killed Bludgeon so early when he still could have used a con of his skills.

But best of all is his slaughtering of the Autobots on Klo, and he would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those Medling Autobots and their Last Autobot

For reasons of uniformity, I prefer Pretenders to appear without their shells.

The big question about Bludgeon is just why he ended up as Decepticon leader after Scorpy's death. OK, so he actually did quite well in the role, but it surprises me that there wasn't someone else higher up to step into the role - like, for example, whoever was in charge of the Decepticons on Cybertron at the time.

Perhaps they were killed in the Unicron War? I can imagine the Decepticon High Command hiding out in a building that promptly gets stepped on. (Thunderwing was commander not long before)

Bludgeon... i never liked him, not sure why. Maybe it was because he was one of the 'never properly introduced masses' and i seem to have a natural dislike for most Pretenders - Carnavic was OK, maybe cos he rarely used his outer shell. Bludgeon was always in his shell... pathetic.

Master of Metallikato? My arse! What did he ever manage to acheive in combat (that we actually saw?) He duffed up Jazz (a bit) and loped the head of a nameless Autobot tech... woo...

Was soooo glad when he got his comeuppance in G2... oh yes.

I liked the way that panned out a lot. There was no grand proclamation of leadership, no vote (that we saw, at any rate), nothing. Bludgeon just started doing things, and the other Decepticons followed him. No questions asked, no dissent, no argument, no squabbling or infighting... they just got on with it.

It implicitly speaks volumes about who Bludgeon was, which until then had effectively been nobody, that all the cons would just accept that he was in charge now. Now I know a lot of people will think it odd that there was no power struggle - it's very unDecepticon; but the flipside is that Bludgeon is the one thing they can all agree on. It showed how much regard they had for him... and his actions from that point on went to show us all why.
Grrr. Argh.

Well to be fair, when the Mayhems, bludg, stranglehold and octopunch are in the autobot jail, he uses his Jedi force powers to stick his sword through old Inferno...

That's where all the good stuff of the cartoon happened.

Bludgeon, liked him, just wished he had a longer run. I feel like I don't know him well enough. Hmm.

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.

The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Sent away for it. Six box tops from Kellogs, Frosties or Coco Pops.

I always felt Bludgeon was the first of the "New School" Decepticons to get to be leader. Megs, Shockwave, Scorponok, Soundwave, even Thunderwing, were all of the old order, while Bludgeon just sprang from nowhere to take the reins. Considering his successes, I imagine he would have taken the Decepticons in very new directions. Shame Megs stomped him.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Once again, like unto Galvatron and Thunderwing, he became a mindless killing machine in Worlds Collide... though he did look cool.

I liekd Bludgeon. I think Furman said some interesting things through him about the nature of good and evil. "Why fight it, it's in our oil!" He was a dirty fighter, a robot who was obsessed with the hunt, the kill, the fight. I think his martial arts background went well with that. He never had delusions of grandeur like Megs and Starscream or moments of goodness like Scorponok. He was a good example of how some people cannot stop seeing life-- even when there is no more reason to fight-- as a fight.

I always thought Bludgeon was completely b@d@$$. He didn't have any little psychotic hangups, personality quirks, or delusions of grandeur like the rest of the Decepticons. He was just walked the walk and skipped the 'talk' part entirely.

While I realize this might not "count" for a G1 discussion, he actually seemed quite formidable in his brief Armada appearance.
