DM's criticism is just bizarre:
They are a crap publisher because they published a comic that LATER caused some problems for me and my mates and LATER may have been ripped off from something else (never heard Miller whining about this...).
They also published a comic by someone who went through the US juctice system and a year later was in a position to write comics - surely if DM has an issue it should be with the US justice system, not someone who employs a free citizen.
His criticism make no ****ing sense.

It's not the only thing sickening...I'm just glad you're workin on the film, Don. Probably the best thing to happen to TF since the original series. Some good can happen, yet few and far between when Hasbro is involved.
*sigh*
*EDIT* Hopefully the movie will become the "standard" as far as continuity goes. It's sickening having all these alternate realities based on the original G1 mythos.
Man alive, do the posters there have anything between their ears except cheese fondu?

Seems pretty ****ing stupid considering Hasbro are already a little narked at the mess DW left them with. This is one producer who doesn't plan to cooperate with them.

I don't know if this is legit, but if so watch Newsarama tomorrow;
if you want more information on what our initial plans are for the book, creators, pricing, all of that, check out Newsarama.com tomorrow morn.
I tried to answer everything I could in that interview, but if you have more questions, ask away and I'll try to get to 'em. Today's been a bit hectic, as you might imagine...
Incidentally, it's not our plan to ignore the Dreamwave material or the unfinished material at all. As it stands now, Hasbro will have to directly address this situation, since they and Dreamwave have the whole bankruptcy to deal with, and those things drag out a while. But we have every intention of resolving this best we can, and releasing comics that never get released.
Anyway... hi! Hope you like what we have planned. And I hope to meet some of ya at Bot-Con in Dallas in September, too.

Because we seem to be for the most part gullible, easily led, fickle, fractured, contradictory and ultimately seem to buy en-mass whatever garbage they throw at us?bobaprime85 wrote:Well, that's not exactly hard, unfortunately.Karl Lynch wrote:At least they sound nicer than Don Murphy. ^_^
Damn, why is it that Transfandom is always getting screwed over in some fashion?

IDW aren't that fantastic IMHO - they're books are shiny shiny pricey pricey.
Seriously, have you seen them? If you haven't got them in your LCS, you'll be able to find a 24 or CSI trade in your local bookstore. Very staid work, average in every way.
The other serial books I've seen are generally marked out by nice paper, shiny covers and artistic, often painted and dark (as in hard to see) artwork.
They also tend to cost a quid or more than the average (already overpriced) comic books.
Although the guy does say he wants to price the TF book under the usual $3.99. Means we might only have to pay about £3.15 or something, oh joy.
Still, the press release and things the chap have said are nice and it all seems very organised and they do release quality product and take their licenses seriously.
I'll be picking up the zero issue, obv, but I'm neither pleased nor disappointed by this news.
PS Denyer, allright if I steal your quote from the nice chappy and link to your board at A N Other site?
PPS Who gives a rat's arse what Don Murphy thinks anyway?

Dude, far as I'm concerned you never have to ask permission to relay info. Idea of news is that it's passed around.KingMob wrote:PS Denyer, allright if I steal your quote from the nice chappy and link to your board at A N Other site?

More important than what any company did in the past, we've actually been lurking at the various Transformers message boards for months now, taking into consideration what the fans have liked, what they haven't, and what they might like to see in a new title
Our initial title, which starts in October's "0" issue and continues in the 6-part Transformers: Infiltration that debuts in January, will be its own continuity.
Crisis of Command and Ancient Relics? There will also be collections of out-of-print material, collections of past issues that have never made it to trade paperback form, and some other cool things, too.

Dear lord don't do that. I think that almost produced a stroke.Dead Head wrote:I get the impression elsewhere that people would prefer each issue of this new comic to either contain the amazing adventures of Nightbird, or to follow the wacky 'Three's Company'-esque happenings of Hot Rod/Arcee/Springer.
From the interview...
Hi Chris! Hire me!Chris Ryall: ...we've actually been lurking at the various Transformers message boards for months now, taking into consideration what the fans have liked, what they haven't, and what they might like to see in a new title.
Ten bucks says has a hand in this.We plan to interact more closely with some of these fan sites on some projects over the next few months, too… unbeknownst to them until they read this, anyway.
Yay!And we'll be attending Bot-Con in Dallas this September, so it'll be nice to meet some of the loyal fans face-to-face. In fact, you Bot-Con attendees are in for a nice surprise this year, too… more on that later.
Nice.Okay, let's say a bit more. Our "0" issue in October will carry a price of $0.99, and will be a 24-page comic, offering a 16-page story that sets up the entire first storyline, some interviews and editorial pages that speak to our future plans, and additional pieces of artwork from other folks, too, all carrying IDW's usual high production values.
Nice and works for me. I have no problem starting over given what's been produced lately.Transformers: Infiltration will be a 6-part story (6 & ½, actually) that reintroduces the Transformers mythos from the ground up. It will be written by Simon Furman and feature art by E.J. Su, who we'll talk about more in a moment.
Decent. The relaunched Transformers title will carry a $2.99 cover price.
Okay, but then this...
...followed by...We all realize and are sensitive to the fact that there are other continuities out there, as well as some unfinished stories, and will work to resolve those to fans' satisfaction as well. Which is why we'll logically then lead right into our Crisis on Infinite Cybertrons maxi-series by Wolfman and Perez...*
That's intended for the "by Wolfman and Perez" part, right?[*Note: not really].
I'm happy. Namely because it's Friday, but this is nice as well!
Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Hmm...
hm..
Ok.
The IDW-Prime pointing his finger is not all that impressive, but that's mostly because of the gaudy colors. (Incidentally I acctually think it looks a bit like my own style... )
Ej Su...Is not as hot as other TF-artists, or to put it this way: "EJ su Inferior - Many other artists SUPERIOR".
Simon Furman on board is pretty awesome, could do some good stuff, and he certainly has a lot of time on him... ( Best First said it best himself..) Here comes the really whiny part....
NOOOooo!!!!!!!!! Not one more continuity!! We already have4 different continuities! For G1 alone! Gah, no Ozz, this gets the preds tumb down, down I say!
We'll see in October of these people are going to prove worthy of this title.
And that bloody pic of that 'kid' sitting up at the disassembled Prime made me cringe.
Sigh...just continue TWW for crying out loud. There might be a plus there by the way, as:
They have a lot to live up to, both art-wise and story-wise. And they can never be allowed to compromise even one of these, cause then it'll fold.
