Energon on DVD in UK?

Over the last 25 years the Transformers have appeared in media from the exquisite to the scribbled and been licensed to the responsible and the... Pat Lee. Discussion of all the branches of TF media within!

Energon on DVD in UK?

Post by Autobloke » Tue Apr 19, 2005 1:45 pm

Just noticed it in release listings in DVD monthly (I think), slated for a 9th May release. There was no indication of whether it was a boxset or a 3ep-per-disc affair (boxset would be better - as the 3ep-ers always get cancelled before all the shows are released), and as always, this date may change.
I'm not a fan of the show, but I AM a fan of TF - so I'll still buy it for my collection.

I know how you feel as I've never been a big fan of Beast Wars but I still bought the Rhino DVD sets. It's a good storyline, but I've always preferred Optimus Prime over Optimus Primal.

Beast Wars is TOTALLY worth having on DVD. I just wish that it was on disc here. Although I like Prime (who doesn't?) Primal was good for the amount of character development he had in the BW series.

The Battle for Energon has finally been released in the UK on DVD.
(unenthusiastic cheers in background).
The incredibly annoying thing is that it states on the box there are two episodes and two (whoo hoo!) bonus episodes. Now, personally, that just looks to me more like four episodes and no extras.
Also, just as I got home with the disc, I saw a TV advert for this very same DVD - for the place I'd just bought it from. Spooky.
I've had it four days, but haven't mustered up the bother to watch it yet.
I wonder if we'll get past three releases this time (I'm talking about YOU, Armada) - one of which I had to buy online 'cos the shops had given up on stocking it.
Pah!

If they don't bother releasing them all I don't feel the need to commit to any of these releases, sadly.

Yeah, I'd much rather have a full boxset (or at least split across two releases) than dribs and drabs or not at all.
It annoys me to see the recent crap like Acceleracers (or whatever the dump show is called) get multiple disc releases, when stuff like Beast Wars and Beast Machines hasn't really been put out properly here, besides a couple of discs for BW.
