Were the Neo Knights rubbish? Or did they really deserve their own comic (as Furman once intended)? Dullest issue ever (The Human Factor)? Good characterisations (Edge of Extinction)? Whatever happened to the individual members after G1?
And who was your fave Neo Knight?

Well, Circuit Breaker is the only one who had any worthwile characterization . . . and under Budiansky, no less! Also, she was around the longest, dating back to the early issues of the series. She was somewhat compelling and at least had a mission.
The rest of the gang were pretty much x-men rip-offs. Thunderpunch was sort of funny, I guess.

Can I pick NONE? I hated (and still do) human characters having such a big role in Transformers (read my post in the 'Movie' topic). Introducing this group of boo-hooing supposed outcasts and then having them 'save' the day by distracting Unicron a bit just makes me want to stick something in someone's eye (volunteers?).
As Veritech said: X-men - and not very good ones at that. The likelyhood of them ever having their own comicbook title was minimal, and it would have folded after the first issue (when I creased it to shove it up someone's arse).
Neo Knights? Neo Crap more like (yeah, I know: not clever - but all TRUE regardless).
Sitting on the fence? Moi?

Personally, I quite liked them. It would have been nice if Rapture had had more than about one line of characterisation and Dynamo any at all.

I liked them, even as a kid. I'm a total comics fanboy, and I've always liked playing with the idea of Transformers teaming up with regular superheros. I thought that they added a lot to the story, especially the part where Optimus Prime's soul is copied in his Powermaster Nebulan (his name escapes me at the moment).
I would have loved to see an issue devoted entirely to the nebulan leading the Neo Knights deep into Cybertron's core, looking for the Last Autobot. It would have been fantastic to see a final meeting of the minds come between Prime and Circuit Breaker. It's too bad the comic was ending and was short on pages...

yeah, my initial reaction to post here was "Bah, neoknights suxx0r" but then when i force myself to think about them *shudder* Rapture was probably the best of the punch, and very powerful too considering she managed to telephathy distract Unicon (if only for a few moments)... not bad for a human eh?Bouncelot wrote:Personally, I quite liked them. Hmm, the Neo Knights are always one of those things quoetd by Cartoon fans when they get stick for the cartoon aren't they?
To which teh natural response is 'yes, they are a bit rubbish because they seem like something from the cartoon'.
To be honest i thought they were quite ill concieved - non of the characters were very interesting in terms of their design or powers and seeing as how we had not had any references to Super Heroes since Spidey in the early US stories the sudden appearance of super powered individuals seemed a bit forced - up until then the TFs had always felt like the only thing that really distinguished that reality from our own. If superhumans were present in that reality i would have expected to see a bit more of them.
However there were some nice moments - i think they play quite well in EOE, especially Thuderpunch and GBs interaction and for whatever reason their presence their doesn't seem as intrusive as they are on Earth.
Cicruit Breaker was a wanker though.

Yep. She was in a catatonic state the last time we ever saw her. Prime said he was going to drop the Neo Knights back to Earth before returning to Cybertron.veritech wrote:I forget what actually happened to Circuit Breaker. Didn't she have a nervous Breakdown or something?
I suppose she's in a little room with nice padded wallpaper paid for by GB Blackrock.

And once again BF delivers a brilliant summary of some bit of TF lore. Not much to argue with except....Best First wrote:Hmm, the Neo Knights are always one of those things quoetd by Cartoon fans when they get stick for the cartoon aren't they?

You're just still bitter because of the "Christmas Breaker" issue.Cicruit Breaker was a wanker though.

LOL . . . I see where you're coming from.Legion wrote:if she's going to be played by Jeri Ryan and wear a costume like she had in the comic... then yes, we need her in the movie!veritech wrote:She would actually be perfect for the role. but do we really need circuit breaker in the movie?Legion wrote:maybe Jeri Ryan can play her in the movie?!
I thought that Seven of Nine was a cheap way to save Star Trek: Voyager, you know? Its like, well, we can't tell good stories and have compelling characterization, so we will just throw in a hot babe in a skintight cat suit to save the show. I don't know what is worse, the fact that Paramount went for it or the fact that it really did save the show! Even the reasoning for her wearing the catsuit was laughable (for medicinal, healing purposes)
T'Pol on Enterprise doesn't have an excuse!
