Over the last 25 years the Transformers have appeared in media from the exquisite to the scribbled and been licensed to the responsible and the... Pat Lee. Discussion of all the branches of TF media within!

Yeah, but is it good security sense or just dumb by the airport people?
I heard that a tiny plastic sword accessory for an Action Man was confiscated 'cos it was considered a weapon.

I bought G1 megs the year it was released in the states, on the way home it was detected in my luggage, and I had to prove it was just a TF by transforming him, everything was then cool.

I thought it was very funny.

You can't take G1 megs on an aeroplane but...........
Firearms and starter pistols may be transported in checked baggage so long as they are unloaded and declared to the airline.

Well if the passenger can't get to the weapons, as with checked baggage, then they can't use them to hijack the plane.

Unless they have a remote-detonatable bomb in their luggage.

I'm actually very surprised by this. When I go to the airport I usually see a sign listing the banned/not banned items, and it always says "Transforming robot toys" are OK. The list you posted seems to imply that gun transformers in particular are banned.

Damn, no Targetmaster Nebulan toys for me on the 'plane then. :D
Surely they can tell the difference between a toy gun and a real weapon? Or is it just that they don't want to take time to investigate such things and just blanket-ban them as a cop-out?
And if it's a case of a toy gun actually being a REAL gun in disguise, don't they realise that any toy - in fact ANYTING - could be a weapon in disguise? Weren't there bombs in the heel of shoes once?
Poor old Megatron. His G1 alt mode is shafted every which way these days. It'll be Galvatron and Shockwave having to cross the Atlantic on a boat next.
Hey! Yeah - does the toy gun ban extend to modes of travel other than airplane? I mean, how did my G1 Megatron reissue GET from Japan to me if not by 'plane?
