How close are we to getting the official announcement of the new TF comic license holder? I thought we would know alot sooner than this. I'm afraid that interest in the series will begin to wane the longer Hasbro waits!

Actually, I share this fear. The longer it takes, the less likely Hasbro will want to fool with it until the movie is released, ensuring the next TF comic will be based not on Marvel or DW's Transformers, but on Dreamworks production.
I want Furman. I want Don. I want Mick.
So like I said, I share your fear.

I don't think that bringing in someone like Furman after Dreamworks has set up the basis for the universe is that bad of an idea.
I think Furman's shown that he can handle coming in at the middle or dealing with certain restrictions or requirements very well all throuighout his career, from early on when he had to deal with the US comic continuity, to recently when he managed to squeeze some good storylines into Armada and Energon.

I agree with whoever said "bring in name writers." Especially since they won't be selling TFs based on Pat Lee's name anymore.
I was hoping that we could mailbomb (in a way that means a lot of mail) Devil's Due about this issue. They are probably hearing from a lot of people that Mick and Patyk should come back. They need to hear that some of us didn't like the G1 ongoing. And they need to hear more of us clamoring for someone like Warren Ellis or Mark Waid to write TFs, or they won't spend the money.

All the cartoon fans want them back because:Optimus Prime Rib wrote:did someone say they wanted mick?
1. He created so many good storylines heavily based on that masterpiece of a cartoon.
2. He never uses TF's like Nightbeat or Thunderwing, because they never were in the cartoon and therefore aren't G1.
3. He doesn't make any complicated subplots, that would only scar the fragile minds of the cartoon fans.
4. His last story arc had a setup like TFTM, OMFG!
5. Springer is Arcee's boyfriend, and not some badass fighting machine who's part of this group called the wreckers.
6. Shockwave did it.
Some people still watch and enjoy the cartoon (without having "fragile minds"). Yes it's poor the majority of the time, but please when having your digs at the cartoon, leave the insults aimed at the fans out.Stormwolf wrote:All the cartoon fans want them back because:Optimus Prime Rib wrote:did someone say they wanted mick?

Besides, I wanted to see the G1 title at DW continue. WHY?? Because I got the feeling that as Unicron's shadow was being cast across Cybertron, we were going to see Cybertron transform into Primus and kick Unicron's candy a$$.
Not very deep, but I would've liked to see it on the pages of a comic.
Yes and I've read and enjoyed the comic scans that used to be on the old site. Some people actualy can enjoy both.
You also made a lot of valid points, just fed up of being insulted because I also enjoy the cartoon.

I've been spending too much time on Don Murphy's board, the crap that gets posted there really annoys the hell out of me.Darth Aux wrote:Some people still watch and enjoy the cartoon (without having "fragile minds"). A good example is this thread: http://www.d13satellite.com/donmurphy/s ... genumber=1
It's about stuff in Armada and Energon and how it is compared with the G1 cartoon:
Yeah, the G1 cartoon never had any of those1.The **** voices
2.The **** toys
3.The **** transformations
4.The **** scripts
5.The lack of depth
6.The even more like a toy ad than G1
7.The fact no-one buys the toys or watches the show
8.The **** scripts
9.THE IMPORTANT ONE: COMPLETELY BADLY DONE COMPLETE ******* RE-HASH OF SOMETHING GREAT!
Okay, I think that I've derailed this thread more then enough now.

Cartoon had its moments. I've got to say that most of "MTMTE" was better than the somewhat lackluster, "oh-look-here's-Spider-Man" intro in the comics. Although I really did like Bumblebee rolling into Buster's car and then Starscream blowing it up as soon as he got out.
There was "Dark Awakening," "Five Faces of Darkness" and a few other (rare) episodes worth watching.

My favorite part of MTMTE was when Prime rolled down a mountainside/cliff and was so badly "damaged" that he couldn't transform. Then all the autobots grouped around him to cheer him on while he attempted to transform. All the while the transformation sound was looping over and over. It was very surreal, like Prime was constipated or something!
Do you think that being unable to Transform is the TF equivilent of impotency? Does it carry with it some measure of shame?

It certainly was in BW-era - Megatron's reaction to Transmutate being unable to transform is almost one of ridicule.veritech wrote:Do you think that being unable to Transform is the TF equivilent of impotency? Does it carry with it some measure of shame?
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Certainly was. One of the highlights of the entire mythos, I feel. The fact that it was Susan Blu playing Transmutate was just the icing on the cake. That's one episode I would show to people, though they probably still wouldn't get it.

Apparently it has been prolonged with one more week. (Nobody told me...) Originally it was suppose to unlock on the 6th of April.
That's the reason your seeing this apparition, I started wondering why it was several days late and simply put on a clean(?) sweater and came banging at the door.
BTW, really cool sig. I might have to wip up a similar one to someone, just to see how I'd fair.
