MTMTE

Maybe its just me but for some reason i was under the impression that the collected version of this, what i consider to be one of DW's bettererer projects, were not readily available.

Well for anyone under the same impression as me, i found both volumes on amazon.

cheers

MTMTE was good, the only things that bother me are:

1. Alpha Trion and the Fembots had profiles, but comic only characters don't.
2. Carnivac is described as a foaming maniac.

Agreed on the Carnivac cock up, but the fembots weren't in my volumes.

I managed to get my 2 volumes from a comic shop not long after Dreamwave folded. I assume once they're sold out that will be that, so I recommend people snap 'em up. I believe the MTMTE series was one of Dreamwave's best products (though the final chapter is mostly toss).

Had Roadbuster in volume 7 I believe. Dont remember him being in cartoon anywhere. Also the tape Gestalts and thier seperate identities (not sure if they were in cartoon ever.

Yeah, but those had toys. I think Stormwolf was talking about characters there only in comic, like Straxus or Impactor.

Exactly.

[sarcasm]but the cartoon characters had so much more depth when compared to the comic characters, no wonder they got profiles[/sarcasm]

Would Dreamwave even be able to get the rights to comic-only characters if they ever wanted to include them? Comic-only characters would be the property of marvel (not sure who did the British comic).

From what I gather, Hasbro had the right to every new character who appeared in Marvel comics, and that's why Death's Head's first appearance was somewhere else (High Tex Noon?), so Hasbro couldn't get his paws on him.

Dreamwave used Primus (or was going to), and some locations like Polyhex, so I guess they could do so with others, but chose not to.

But I'm not sure this how it works, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm fairly sure thats how it works as well - i think there is this bizarre fear of using then in the US because it might confuse people or something...

sigh.

Yeah, I thought so too.

So if hasbro has the rights to Impactor, Straxus, etc., do they have the rights of the storylines too? Or is that Marvel's? Because now they are being reprinted by Titan...

Like I said, I can only guess, and that guess would be that they have. They could choose who would reprint Marvel series, and they chose Titan.

I also guess that they have the rights to Dreamwave stories, and when another company starts making new comics, they will be also able to reprint DW series, because Hasbro will let them.

That's good... Frankly I'm not happy with any Marvel cartoon they made so far (Spider-man, SM Unlimited, Hulk, Fantastic 4, X-Men).

Only X-Men evolution was the one I liked, and to be honest I only started watching it because of Furman...

But if Hasbro have the rights, they could hire the staff who does JL, Batman, Superman TAS...

I LOVED X-Men: Evolution. I find it silly that some people seem to bash it just because there are so many things changed when compared to the comic.

Incidentally, I thought Furman's Season 1 finale was kinda dissapointing. ;) But I think he wrote only the first part. Rogue Recruit was good though.
