I'm in the mood for some lighthearted Roddy bashing. Anyone else? I promise it's going to be fun.
Anyway, which of these, er, 'two' losers proved to be the bigger gimp? Was it the idiot who got Prime killed or the idiot who whined a lot while playing leader?
*Waits patiently for sarcastic "but they're the same person!" remark.*

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Are they? What effect does the matrix have on a bearer? At the very least, it appears to be sentient.bobaprime85 wrote:Waits patiently for sarcastic "but they're the same person!" remark.

Like getting Op killed....Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:Roddy because he always doubted himself - wheres hotrod was brash but at least he belived in his actions
As for the issue of the Matrix and its influence, it seems that the Matrix (tying into the sentience idea) had to take a direct measure to place Roddy in a mode where he could realistically take control of the Autobots. But it also seems as if it just gave Hot Rod some platform shoes and the ability to whine incessantly. So basically.... I have no idea.

As to Hot Rod you have to specify which Hot Rod. Movie Future Hot Rod didn't seem to have much fighting experience and was just generally niave.
Back in the main timeline Hot Rod spent a lot more time in the front lines and By G2 he was still somewhat rash but much more seasoned and less annoying.
As a side note has anyone else noticed how in the later issues of G1 and into G2 Prime tended to keep Hot Rod close at hand? Me thinks Prime knowing who the Matrix will choose if he buys it wants to make sure Roddy gets a proper education this time around.

And thus Time Wars begins...
I like the idea of OP keeping Hotrod close by his side in case somthing happens. - Or perhaps he knew that Unicron was comming EoE and was gonna use him as TF shield because the matrix told that in another life, Hotrod got you killed!

Hmm... Matrix-charged precognition aside, it does make sense that Prime would keep Roddy close, especially after Time Wars. But then again, I always got the impression that Prime was putting more effort into smoothing over Grimlock's edges in order to make the Dinobot an effective Autobot leader. Ah well, might as well have a back-up just in case, one supposes.Impactor returns 2.0 wrote: I like the idea of OP keeping Hotrod close by his side in case somthing happens. - Or perhaps he knew that Unicron was comming EoE and was gonna use him as TF shield because the matrix told that in another life, Hotrod got you killed!
Of course, using Roddy as a TF shield would be pure brilliance and an example of karmic payback.

At the time he didn't have the matrix.bobaprime85 wrote:I always got the impression that Prime was putting more effort into smoothing over Grimlock's edges in order to make the Dinobot an effective Autobot leader. Ah well, might as well have a back-up just in case, one supposes.
(As an aside, the matrix Prime has in G2 doesn't seem to be the one he flew into Unicron with. A creation of the Last Autobot?)

If Primus is God
Last Autobot is Jesus
The matrix? erm the bible?
shoot me...
Optimus Prime is the biggest gimp of all. Rodimus was leader for too little time so he was adjusting to his new reality, On the other hand Optimus was leader for a heck lot of time and made a lot of mistakes. I think he just wants to keep the war going on, otherwise he wouldnt have job or hold his “messiah status” in a peaceful Cybertron
