This was, of course, an edited interview. Here is the complete version:
In late 2003, we started noticing a dip in our sales (because people figured out we were writing crappy comics). This concerned us initially but we felt that there were ways that Dreamwave could consistently keep the sales at required levels (we tried writing more crappy comics, and it didn't work). We suffered a double whammy because the strong Canadian dollar made it difficult for us to sustain the financial damages caused by the decline in sales and revenue (due to our crappy comics). Dreamwave continually examined options in cutting costs but it became more difficult as time progressed (It never occurred to us to start writing good comics). We fought extraordinarily hard to keep the company afloat but financially it was just too taxing for us to continue (...writing bad comics).
It wasn't absolutely clear to me that it was time to close Dreamwave until the last two months (despite all our crappy comics). Dreamwave was really excited about launching our 2005 (crappy) comic book lineup and continuing our ongoing (halfass) business. Every morning I would wake up with guns ablazing, ready to take on (read: screw up ) the next challenge.
