If you had to choose, which era of the UK comic do you think was it's best?
And why?
And why?

101-200.
It has a lot of my favourite stories. Wanted:Galvatron, Grudge Match, Legacy of Unicron, the Flame stories, Dry Run...
Though TF comics as a whole improved later on as Furman took the helm of the US book, the UK-only stories peaked here. Beforehand there was some really dodgy stuff, and the later B&W five-pagers left something to be desired.

Looking at this as I personally recall feeling as a kid...
Option A, as I recall being completely excited and enthralled by the earlier stories; the Wrath 2-parter (which is where I properly became an addict to the title), Icarus, Dinobot-Hunt, Megs vs Shockers, the Special Teams issues, Target:2006 and the Wreckers (the Wreckers issue being one I read and re-read so many times I'm surprised it's still in cogent form), then the sweet Prey storyline leading up to a somehow claustrophobic and numbing return of Prime to Cybertron. Also the Cybertron Seven, although they were a tiny bit lame.
Those stories hooked me competely, resulting in my complete obsession with the Dinobots and the Wreckers. I felt a real sense of 'what's next, can't wait' with all the new ideas and gripping, dark plots, and no real let-ups...although the Skids stuff did drag slightly.
For me personally, 101-200 was a bunch of bright spots amidst stuff I was kind of bored by. There are awesome stories in there, but the slightly meh stuff and the US chuff seemed more high-profile than before. I remember getting a bit narked off with all the Galvatron/King Grimlock malarkey that seemed to go on and on and on. The only whole storyline I remember being really into as much as I was into the stuff from the first century was the City of Fear/Flame storyline. Everything else had bits that didn't appeal to me as strongly as other things...and I know it's kind of daft, but my memory of the comic is coloured by my dislike of the format the title took around the Space Pirates era, the Transformation page really. Wow, I hated that look.
I like a lot of things in the last portion of the run, more than I like things from the mid-portion, but looking at that option, there's some stories in there I really didn't like that much when I was a kid either; and the format made them actually last for ages rather than just feel like it.

I'm with King Mob.
I mean, in the main the issues between 30 and 100 were excellent, and a lot of the scripting, artwork and colouring really peaked for me.
Of the next 100, I absolutely loved the Wanted: Galvatron arc, but by Space Pirates I sensed a shift, the comic was on the wane.
After that, well, the two story format (issues 213 to 308) was in particular a very trying time (it was clear the title was only just scraping by financially).
After that we had the greatness that was the Unicron saga, but by then the Marvel US comic had become the premier TF title of the two.

the thing that pissed me off about time wars at the time were threefold.
1) no ultra magnus (present day) vs Galvatron rematch that we were promised.
2) half the characters dissappeared halfway through (no, i don't mean prime and co who went to limbo)... i mean the likes of Ironhide who we see charging towards Rodimus and co alongside Fort Max.
3) why none of the autobots except bumblebee seem to realise/remember that rodimus and co are from the future until they've wasted an issue by fighting amoungst themselves...

Fort max was an *** is Time Wars...
I mean, here's a guy who looks like Hot Rod (a member of my crew), now apparently a Prime, claiming to come from the future... What do I do? Attack him, right.
I blame Spike for this... Max was a cool guy until Galen lived, it was all downhill from there.
