It's the same thing that always bugs me. Do you think the franchise will ever extend beyond the G1 timeline/timeframe? I don't mean a different continuity such as RiD, Armada, Energon, BW (per say). I mean something like the idea of Generation 2.
Bored.

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

I think that's currently very unlikely.Señior's Covenant wrote:It's the same thing that always bugs me. Do you think the franchise will ever extend beyond the G1 timeline/timeframe? Yeah, but I was thinking along lines beyond that. Like an expanded Generation 2, possibly redone. Eh, dreams seem abundant right now anyway.spiderfrommars wrote:Isn't that sort of what Beast Wars/Beast Machines was?
I never liked Universe. Though, yes, I'd love a continuation after BM, possibly set centuries into the future. *Wishes fan-fiction was done so he could share.*spiderfrommars wrote:Which was kind of continued in Universe?

Couldn't stand them. I apologize to those who liked them, but I'm glad their gone. Now if the same would up and happen with TF/G.I.Joe crossovers...spiderfrommars wrote:The Universe comics aren't bad.
One can only hope that day will come soon. The fans could use it. I'm not saying Furman is the be all, but he's one of the best the industry has produced in the way of TFs. One can only wonder what would have been done with War Within had he'd been given the extended chance.spiderfrommars wrote:But Furman just seems distracted... almost as if he's saving his good ideas for the stuff that pays better...
Why can't they just produce a toyline for the WW series and get on with the story. Or even better, *gasp*, not require a toyline to a continuing storyline. Just because DW, or more Pat "Strippers rub on my abs while I'm driving my sports car... ...thanks for paying for it!" Lee, screwed up doesn't justify filing away into history one of the more original ideas in Transformers books here lately in my honest opinion.
*Is bummed out*

Well you did appologise so I'll leave it at that. I just want to add that the series had great potential, as Furman had as good as free hands with it. Apparently one of the story-arcs coming up was Cybertronian genocide at the hands of Unicrons minions, and subsequent "pitt-ifying" of the planet...And James Raiz pencils was natch. That's all I guess.
As for the continuation of G1, well..they've sorta done that with Alternators, geared towards adult collectors and all. Too bad for you and others that it really (unlike the DW-series) uses the cartoon as continuity for the most of it.

Alternators?
Any story that has Marissa Fairborne, Dr. Archeville AND, of all people, Lord Chumley in it is rubbish before even being published.
I'm 99% unlikely to be proven wrong. Cause you know, with your's truly ol' one-eye joining the Alternator frey too, the saying "Shockwave did it!"will be true to this toyline, too...
