Erm, just curious. I'm reading it currently (having finally picked up a few of my comics) and I think it's alright so far. I loooove the art in.
Also have a few issues of WW:TDA, G1 and Armada. These people had a whole box in a corner full of comics I had asked for and hadn't picked up in over a year. 0_o Oops.
Reading time!

Enjoy! Let us know what you think.
Personally, I think MTMTE is one of the few things that DW got more or less right. A complete compendium of all the G1 characters was long overdue.
It has its problems. The ordering of the characters is nonsensical, and the omission of comic only characters and G2 TFs is disappointing. Some of the art is ugly too, though the majority looks nice.
Overall I think its pretty handy and I approve.

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.
I think the Transfans reviews of DW G1 are a pretty accurate appraisal of it's good points and bad points. Well worth a read, like all of the reviews on this site.
I recently close re-read the first 3 issues for review purposes of my own, and came to the conclusion that #1 is complete mince, #2 is allright but has a pants-poo ending, that #3 is entertaining but has similar pants-pooey endingness and that the first 4 issues could probably be rewritten and made into a blistering 2-part story if all the extraneous fanwank and illogical plotting was ditched.

The text's not bad, though a bit predictable and fanboyish in places. Art ranges from decent to poor, and some more of the good stuff that wasn't used can be found here: http://www.olywa.net/jamesan/portfolio/tf.html
All in all it turned out better than expected. Dreamwave intended to weave more story into the profiles to make it a "must buy to stay in the loop" publication, and make more changes to established characters. Hasbro weren't keen, anecdote would suggest, as they likewise weren't keen on the "each product year being a generation" thing...
MTMTE #8 is evidence that McDonough had lots planned out in his head that he was incapable of articulating in a comic.
The best angle in it for me was reading what had been come up with for the Micromasters and other less-scripted characters. (Shame none of this really came across in the Micromasters 4-issue series...) Sharp potted histories of mostly new characters are something I've always found to have squee factor.
Worst things are the random ordering and extra pages given over to Pretender shells and other kibble—would rather more text and less art.

"...Fans will totally see how we have integrated the profiles from the MTMTE series into MicroMasters. Irs going to be really cool and you will see how we have this really cool overall plan that ties all our cool products together as the fans want. And we know as we are fans ourselves. way bigger fans than any of you incidental losers. cool."Denyer wrote:(Shame none of this really came across in the Micromasters 4-issue series...) would rather more text and less art.

Yeah, I wonder whether the marketing department was there to do anything but try to stop Pat turning in blank sheets of jism-soaked paper as ad copy...Best First wrote:"...Fans will totally see how we have integrated the profiles from the MTMTE series into MicroMasters. Well, draw enough tits on robots and given that Pat loves a little head it would stand to reason he may not be able to contain himself. He's not exactly pro with restraint.Denyer wrote:Yeah, I wonder whether the marketing department was there to do anything but try to stop Pat turning in blank sheets of jism-soaked paper as ad copy...
I'm actually amazed anyone's still doing any form of business with the Lees.
