I, I, I this must be bollocks.

Apparently Dreamengine of course want's to make a bid for the comic, but possibly with the backing of Marvel?? And read some of the posts there, as they also state a few negatives with marvel at all getting involved with TF again. We already know most of the negatives regarding DreamEngine, but those were interesting. I had never heard of this, "bay city roller version of transformers - bots master".
At this point I have no idea who should get it, as the DC preposal was a bit male-genital. And the Devils Due? Hmmm....not sure about that one not quite.

Basically, this rumor COULD be surmised in a question: Would you let Pat Lee hold TF again (although Marvel would be his boss) in exchange for being able to access the Marvel TF universe?
Now for me, the only way I would answer even "maybe" would be if they were to not only access the universe, but the continuity. If they said they were going to start off after the end of G1 or G2, I'd say "Hell yeah, let's go ahead and put Budiansky on the stories, Manny on the art, and Nel on the coloring while we're at it.".
But Hasbro obviously is not going to go in that direction. And in that case, there is absolutely no reason to let Pat Lee get within two shits of TF again. I think that Hasbro knows that, too.

Impactor.
Xaaron.
Death's Head.
Neo-Knights.
Blackrock.
Jhiaxus.
G2 continued? G1 missing years?
Come now... I don't care if Dream Engine does the publishing, as long as they let Simon free reign over the comic. And Marvel did just that with G2 and G1 Uk, back then.

some of the responses to that thread news item really piss me off:
" they wrecked them twice before, and i don't want to see that happen again. please hasbro, listen to us, the fans. we don't want to see transformers given to a company that has twice shown that they have no respect for transformers or transfans."
who is this guy to speak for everyone? And how did Marvel wreck TFs firts time round - the Marvel runs still represent the best TF body of work IMO.
But if it involves Dream Engine... balls to it, i'd rather see it go elsewhere.

http://www.comicbookresources.com/columns/?column=13While retailers and fans wait and wait, and gradually start to lose interest, I understand a final decision on who gets the "Transformers" comics license, and the remaining Diamond solicitations still on hold, will be made between the 11th and the 18th of February.

I dont' mind if its Marvel. I just hope they can do the quality of artwork that Dreamwave was up to. By the end of Marvel's run they had tongue's hanging out of every robot they drew and the art work left a lot to be desired. That was 10 years ago though .. well much more then 10 now . .I don't read many comics but I have to assume their quality is better by now.
A company like Image though would work well. Whoever is doing the GI Joe comic seems to be a good fit. Just no more Pat Lee. He had his shot. Sorry time for someone else to give it a go I say.
