Just readin his froum
A. ppl over there fill him full of cartoon cack.
more importantly.
B. Ive just read some of the only posts by Don himself, a 'major' film producer who for some reason spends more of his time talking about putting a bounty on some 13 year olds head who said bad words about him, and suing his ass useing his lawyers.
FFS, this guy must be a muppet, hes like 13 Don. get a life, go make a decent film.
i was worried about this film before, now im more worried, anyone who can behave like this doesnt exactly get my hopes up for making a decent film..

Hmm, well, what little I could understand from lurk-reading some of that stuff is that apparently this kid was rather smart, and as such had one heckuva campaign or something against Murphy, and apparently made some phony interviews or something, and Murphy took offence.
I suppose that he's in his full right to trace and sue the kid, even tho it does seem rather pointless, on several levels.

Could be worse. A couple of good 'uns, a few flops.
I will wait and see.
His board is sycophantic though, but its to be expected.

No worries for the film here. Can't worry about something you have little hope for to begin with.
Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Well, the producer does little in the making of the film, except to decide where the money goes. And to be frank, I don't care about speciel effects as long as the story's good.
The 'next door comic book guy' scriptwriter worries me more then Murphy. And, who is the director, anyway?

Yes, there's far too many cartoon fans over there, and they have made all kinds of stupid remarks like:
1. Bludgeon is not part of G1, he wasn't in the cartoon!
2. G2 are the episodes after the movie with Rodimus Prime.
3. Enter the Nightbird was one of the coolest episode ever.
4. Prowl was never second in command, Jazz was!
5. I've never read the comics, but how could Grimlock be a leader? He transforms into a dinosaur and must be stupid.
6. I'm confused, I just read a comic online and the Decepticons won, how can that be?
7. No, the Matrix was first seen in TFTM and only Autobots can use it!
8. How can Fortress Maximus be around? He hasn't been built yet?
9. Powermaster Optimus Prime is not Optimus Prime, he's this guy named God Ginrai.
But luckily most of them will kill themselves after the movie comes out:

If only it were true. [composite word including 'f*ck']! THAT JUST EATS ME UP INSIDE! Why can't they just do what I did and embrace not only the legacy of the comic book run, but the idiocy and childness of the cartoon?
I loved the toon when I was a child. Then I grew up.

Oboy. And I thought we comic fans were over the edge...
Frankly, I have all the episodes downloaded, but can't bring myself to watch them twice...
... on comparison, I have watched Batman Tas episodes or even Batman Beyond ones (like Meltdown) more then twice... Curiouser and curiouser...

That's namely due to Batman TAS owning.BB Shockwave wrote:...I have watched Batman Tas episodes... ...more then twice... Curiouser and curiouser...

Batman TAS and Batman Beyond (I love Beyond...especially Return of the Joker) are simply the most stunningly awesome American cartoons of the past 20 years.BB Shockwave wrote:

You might just be right. It's good to see a fellow Batman Beyond/Of The Future lover, since I for some ignorant reason have seen several people on the net bash that series..Computron wrote:Batman TAS and Batman Beyond (I love Beyond...especially Return of the Joker) are simply the most stunningly awesome American cartoons of the past 20 years.
About Batman TAS tho, altough I recognise it's greatness, I still enjoyed STAS and to some degree JL, more, since I'm more of a Superman & Green Lantern fan than a Batman one. Batman Beyond was roxxors tho. Coincidentally it reminded me a lot about another of my faves in animation too, Phantom 2040.

I've just been reading the threads and I now have no hope at all for this movie, I may even be forced to hide the fact I'm a tf fan when it comes out as it will be that bad.
Why can't people move on, we don't want a simple remake of old clips fro mthe series and comics. Just make a whole new story, with new ideas etc...
Part of the reason X-Men did so well at the box office was that they didn't trap themselves into using old stuff from the comics which had been done a million times and seen by lots of people (in comics or cartoons). This was also partly why the Dreamwave comics sucked so much as they spent more time trying to get a line from episode #37 than they did writing a decent story.

Why do I get the feeling that the discussions between John Rogers and Don Murphy about the script are going to / have gone a similar way to the episode of Black Books where Bernard and Manny write a children's story?
"An elephant? And a balloon?"
"Yes."
"... but it will in essence still be my story?"
"Yes."
"Okay!"

Grrr. Argh.

I agree with everything you said, especially this part.Nosecone wrote:Why can't people move on, we don't want a simple remake of old clips fro mthe series and comics. Just make a whole new story, with new ideas etc...
I also think that we are seeing an excellent example of why moviemakers go to such great lengths to keep their movies under wraps. We have a legion of fans who are each criticizing the movie for not fitting being precisely what they want to see, and we have already decided to condemn a movie that hasn't even been made yet.
I don't know about you, but I find it kind of embarrassing. How about we let the man do his job and make a movie, watch it, and then judge it based on whether it was a good movie or not? Right now all we're doing is nitpicking things that aren't even set in stone yet.
-J
On the other hand, if we all just shut up and waited, what fun would that be?

Good idea, but it's usually the cartoon fans who fear change and originality.jboyler wrote:I agree with everything you said, especially this part.Nosecone wrote:Why can't people move on, we don't want a simple remake of old clips fro mthe series and comics. The kind of muppets that show up there and genuinely believe that they should have the primary say in how this goes never have that level of self appreciation.
Hence its the biggest goobers* who are making their opinion known on a daily basis.

I just found a guy who is a big Grimlock fan... I lent him my TF comics and he didn't like them!!!
Why does he like Grimbo, then? The cartoon version was not even memorable...

Here's John Rogers's take on the script he submitted:

I remaind, and will remain, blindly optimistic until I have reason to do otherwise, which will be no earlier than two seconds after the credits roll.
