Newest rumor on Seibertron:

Devil's Due will publish several Transformers projects, all based on
the G1 universe:

War Within III #1-3 will be collected in a special 72-page edition for
new readers with the remaining stories to follow monthly.

Beast Wars will be published after TWW3 ends.

Generation One will get a reboot when it returns this Summer. It's cast
of characters will be reduced to the Alternators and a few others here
& there. (i.e... FUTURE Alternator toys...)

Look for former GI Joe villians from Sgt Savage & GI Joe Extreme to
appear in the TFG1 comic as the two titles will share a universe once
again.

Soo... at least we get to see TWW and Beast Wars.

Wonder why no word on Cybertron? Maybe because it's the current line and Hasbro wants some more professional company to handle it? Especially with the recent news about Cybertron being a totally different story from Galaxy Force, I hope we get to see the comic go on.

G1 - well, the crap continues. Sgt Slaughter and the GI Joe movie cast? Man, and I thought we Transfans had it in 1986 when they replaced Megs with a raving lunatic and OP with a glorified punk, then watch the Joe movie, and marvel at CC getting turned into a snake, and Cobra being led by a bald worm and a bunch of disco reject from Cobra-La. (La-la-lala!

) Of course, we saw that one coming with the end of their second Joe-TF crossover, where we saw these reject wearing Unicron shields. I hope TWW will be kept as totally separate continuity.

By the way, how do you feel about the..."plans" that Devil Due has for their G.I Joe and TF G1 comics?

Of course I know your serious. I've been banned before you know? And I also took heed from the last warning I got about 2 weeks ago, and mellowed down. But then there comes alot of news like this and I get all riled up again, and so forth. It comes and goes in cykles I say.

I'll be more than a little upset if we get an alternators series at the expense of a G1 series, tbh. And combining it with GI:Joe Extreme? That would be kinda...blah.

To go into Comic Book Guy mode:

Worst comic idea...ever! I will only buy both regular covers, one DF exclusive, and the chromium. Maybe the incentive, but NOT the black and white internet exclusive incentive variant!

Still, that cast is still too small. Of course, I'll be the happiest person on earth if we get a 10-page monologue of Dead End expressing how ultimately futile the great war was, and how dull life is.

I just hope they don't use the japanese Binaltech storyline. Why? It includes Lord Chumley, EDF and Dr. Archeville...

Maybe not, but how many casual or old school TF fans are going to see a Mustang and RX-7 Transformers on the cover and know that it's Grimlock and Shockwave?

The same problem could be had with Megatron, but Optimus Prime is universal. Even if you smooshed him into a Mini Cooper, as long as he has a blue head, a couple of antennae, and a faceplate (sorry Primal fans), everyone, from fan to non fan, knows that they're looking at that leader guy from the Transformers.
