"Hasbro, who seems to be happy that both of their major toyline licensees will remain under one roof as they did with Marvel. It's unknown about creative teams, but the word is that Josh Blaylock will be writing the main TF book and current Joe artist Tim Seeley will be doing the art."
Blaylock...hmm, I'm not so sure. His G.I Joe/TF v2 was sorta fun, but subpar still, so I'm not convinced, in fact, I'm skeptical. WAIT! "Main TF-book"?? Noooooooooooooooo!!!
That would logically mean TF:Energon/Cybertron, no Furman??!! Unacceptable! One G1 tho, well, new continuity, new sh*te. I think it will most likely be less remembered than the Dreamwave run, and until I'm proven immensely wrong, rightly so.
And Tim Seeley, hmm, I haven't bothered to read DD's G.I Joe so I don't know if he's any good, but I seriously doubt that he's a better TF-artist than Don Figueroa, or Andrew Wildman. Hmm..I believe that I will use one of my favorite sayings by one of the distinguished members of this board, to describe how I feel: "He's rubbish, kill him!"

I can't say I'm enthused about any of the creative talents mentioned, with the possible exception of Joe Casey as Joe writer (not really a Guido fan I'm afraid, and Kordey is one of the most heinous high-profile pencillers I can think of). But I haven't picked up a DD book since...#12 or so...the one when Storm Shadow slashed up Snake-Eyes' face. So it's not like I can really comment, as i thought their stuff was crap and stopped bothering with it.
I was considering trying out Casey's Joes, but if it's gonna be tied down with the pressure and expectation of a mixed continuity relaunch, I don't think I'll bother.
As to the DD G1 title, I'm expecting it to be astonishingly mediocre, so this news doesn't really do anything for me.
I was more interested in the scurrilous gossip about Pat and Rodger the Dodger Lee, who are being made out to be right sh*ts by this slow leak of goss. Ha ha.

Same here. Their previous efforts weren't terrible, they were just... completely dispensible.KingMob wrote:

I understand why they're sticking with inhouse creators, but it doesn't exactly inspire excitement.

Work of high art compared to the beginning of "War and Peace"... certainly there's a lot of rubbish in the 80s/90s TF comics, yes, but there's a lot of them and it's possible to pick some good-quality stuff from the mass.
Dreamwave had ten years to reflect on things and plan, had no requirement to promote toys, and still didn't get done in 22-24 pages what older stories had to achieve in 5 or 11.

hmm

"This is BS. I have it from a VERY SOLID source that the TF license is still up for grabs. I find it dispicable if Devil's Due is spreading these rumors to try and scare away other perspective bidders. It's just downright dishonest!"
Interesting. If these rumors are in fact circulating from Devils Due than I would not like them to even breathe on a cover of Transformers. Antics like this remind me much of Dreamwave's complete dishonesty about the status of their company and lack of paying anywhere near $40,000 to their employees/freelancers.
If they're not coming from DD then whoever is spreading all this needs to realize that the license is still up in the air.
Personally i've been disregarding all these rumors as either someone's rampant wishings of what they want for the TF comic or just someone completely misunderstanding what someone else has commented on.
But i guess we'll see soon enough

Well, maybe you should contact Rich and tell him what you think; his rep of providing absolute anonymity is (AFAIK) golden, and he takes his 'job' seriously. It's at a 'yellow', so it's basically hearsay from a source he trusts. If it can be disputed he might pull it, clarify it, give a 'red', whatever.
If it is a scare tactic, he'd even comment on that. He appears to hate underhand business goings-on.
