Somebody told a mate of mine that his uncle's best friend's badger thinks that Dreamwave have gone out of business.

A rumor has surfaced from a source that Dreamwave Productions, publisher of the current Transformers comic books, has gone out of business. This is only rumor now pending official announcement.

That's funny, I've gotten all sorts of stories. My cousin's butcher who jogs with this supreme court judge that pops Advil Liqui-gels like tic-tacs and who once slept with his best friend who is the one that eventually dry cleaned Monica's Lewinsky's dress heard it from my cousin that they were claiming bankruptcy. I still don't see why my cousin didn't just tell me.

But then again I received a smoke signal from the Jolly Green Giant explaining that this buck'a'suck Pat Lee was busted with is taking over DW and renaming it Worst Ideas, Inc.

So who knows.

It is? So how come the article says that it's come from a source of his.

Ergo he's not the source, just somebody reporting the rumour. He's right in the sense that a source of his has told him, but it doesn't mean his source is right.

Therefore he remains right, you remain wrong, and all is right in the natural order of things.

There is one thing I'm really looking forward...

When DW's gone up in smokes, Simon can finally tell us in an interview how working 'really' was at DW... like how much he could influence G1 ongoing, or vice versa, how much Pat Lee and Brad forced their ideas on him.

Nothing really to cry about if Dreamwave goes under. But nothing to gloat about either.

(Although I would be slightly peeved at not seeing Furman's Ultra Magnus set things to right in AoW #6. UM's characterization has generally been shat on by Dreamwave, and it would be nice to see Magnus done right for a change.)

Dreamwave has NOT folded and it has not gone out of business. This rumor started shortly after dreamwave "closed" for the holidays. The staff of DW is on a short vacation until either right before or right after the new year. This rumor is completely false. Entertaining, but false.

I'm seeing this as a good thing...

I would guess that the reason trades have been axed / rescheduled is a) **** organisation, and b) possibly pending legal action. G1 Volume 0 (Micromasters, etc) was also cancelled IIRC.

Sorry, I think this whole "out on vacation" explanation is weak at best. Somebody somewhere related to DW would have heard this thing and diffused this sucker. Its been days and not a peep out of anyone. Santa Claus and Christmas trees aren't going to keep DW staff from checking their emails.
