You conduct electricity. You feel things, due to your ability to sense changes in your envrinoment.Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:all im trying to say, is even if they do conduct electricity, why should it hurt them?
If i pass a current across a bit of metal, the metal doesnt erm 'hurt' does it?
Im going to assume they have good circuit breakers to stop over loads
A bit of metal has no sensation. However, it is altered by the electrical current passing through it. The individual electrons and nuclei react to the current, and if strong enough, can actually escape their surroundings (i.e. the metal deforms/melts).

Ratchet switched off Jazz's pain system when he replaced his entire arm in the issue of the Marvel comic where GB Blackrock was being shown around the Ark (during the period when Prime's head was a captive of Shockwave).Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:Can it for example turn of pain receptors?
I should imagine that TFs have sensors all over their bodies that tells them if things are touching them or if there is a damaged area. Perhaps any electrical or physical damage would overload these sensors and be registered by the TF as pain because it disrupts their delicate neural systems in an unpleasant, ie. not standard, way.
Didn't Arnold say something similar to that in T2?
Sorry I'm late to the party... I was on vacation.
What this discussion has really failed to touch on is how frighteningly powerful some of our modern day "human" weaponry is.
Even the cutting-edge Chobam armor can't stand up to weapons like the Hellfire antitank missile or a 120mm depleted uranium round. And if anyone has actually seen a 30mm Avenger cannon take apart a tank, you would see how scary some of our weapons really are. And that's not even mentioning smart 'bunker busters' or cruise missiles.
It seems ridiculous that any but the most powerful Transformers could just shrug off modern antitank weapons.
Besides, nowadays a weapon's firepower is only half the equation. The M1A1 has a ludicrously powerful cannon but it also has a very expensive and complex targeting system. And while it's armor is first-rate, it also has a low profile and is highly maneuverable.
In a battle between TFs and a human army, even if the TFs were vulnerable to human weapons they are still mobile enough that the human vehicles would find themselves hopelessly out-maneuvered and out-fought. (As has already been discussed)

Nice to know my posts are of such a high quality they're still the subject of intense discussion a year later
I've always thought that HotSpot getting taken out by a few Hiss tanks was a bit rubbish. Its not like he was holding back on defending himself either: 'This is a fireball cannon. Although it may seem incongrous to my design, you would do well to avoid it!'
But I think that Cyclonus getting made a tit of by the F-14s was believable. He was overconfident and they outflew and outsmarted him. I love that scene. Just because TFs have superior technology doesn't mean they're undefeatable.

The way I saw it, a hit from the HISS tank wouldn't have done much but scratched his armour.SnapDragon wrote:I've always thought that HotSpot getting taken out by a few Hiss tanks was a bit rubbish. However, a sustained assault from multiple HISS tanks would begin to do some real damage, which is why he reacted the way he did.
