In this forthcoming DW, um, thing, the yet-to-be-dubbed Insecticons travel to Earth, pursued by the Dynobots. In the flashback in #8 we see that Kickback is in his WW config while Grimmers has a T-Rex arm hanging off his back. But this happened what, between 3.9 and 3.5 million years ago? When the dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago, so there wouldn't be any around on Earth for them to see, why would 5 Autobots be reformatted with dinosaur alt-modes?
Hence the poll.

I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

I'm gonna go with fossils.
No real reason for them to be made organic. Pretender synth-skin tech hasn't been created yet (had it?), and I don't think the scanners would see a bunch of fossilised bones and say "we will make the alt modes based on these... and cover them in skin!"
So, yeah. Fossils! Or Shockwave...

Of course then they have to explain how come Sludge is a brontosaurus...

Simple, innit? It scanned some incomplete fossils and decided to mesh them together!Metal Vendetta wrote:Of course then they have to explain how come Sludge is a brontosaurus...
Either that or Sludge is some other form of sauropod.
[Of course I could argue that Sludge isn't a brontosaurus, but a fictional robot with an alternate mode patterned after creatures of a similar genus to a brontosaurus, but let's leave the pedantry in that other thread, yeah? ]
Grrr. Argh.

Note on the whole Brontosaurus issue. If you compare the skull of an Apatosaurus, which is the correct name for the Brontosaur (though many & most still seem to refer to him as the B-name), with that of a Camarosaurus, Sludge's dino mode still resembles more of the dino it should imo so all they did (in the world of TFs on Earth) was name it wrong which isn't surprising given at that time in our history the general populace (folks that know essentially dick about dinos) didn't know what an Apatosaur was. You think Sludge gives a damn whether his alt modes name starts with "Apato" or "Bronto"? A Sludge by any other name...

No, that was Megatron. Honest! (Logically, if a JFK was shot by a space gun... not much would have remained for the analysis.)Stormwolf wrote:Shockwave did it, I'm also willing to bet that it was Shockwave who shot JFK
I voted Wheeljack. So cartoony--- so nostalgic- So it's only logical Brames will choose this.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Dreamwave reveals that Vector Sigma was really manipulating Shockwave all the time! Can't you just see it?Stormwolf wrote:But it was Shockwave who was messing around with Vector Sigma.....spiderfrommars wrote:DW have gone from blaming Shockwave for everything to blaming Vector Sigma lately. So, like the Micromasters, I think Vector Sigma will foot the bill for this too.
Some Really Ominous Ancient Temple On Cybertron:
Prime is down on the ground injured.
Shockwave is gloating over him.
Then - FWASH! A big laser scorches Shockwave and the Vector Sigma orb starts talking about how easy it was to manipulate the Transformers. 22 pages later, it finishes taking credit for everything from the Dinobots to Chris Sarracini and gets ambushed by...... Optimus Prime's roller!

So that's Shockwave in the lead, with Vector Sigma and the Beast Wars thing in joint second place. Interesting. Let's seal the results in a Transfans time capsule, and when the comic comes out, we'll see how accurate our predictions were...

Well Vector Sigma could give the micros earth shapes; so past, present and future dont care a damn in this universe.spiderfrommars wrote:I thought that was after the Great Shutdown?Stormwolf wrote: But it was Shockwave who was messing around with Vector Sigma.....
Hm, as I suspected, I really don't get DW's timeline.
In the end, Vector Sigma did it with help of all the others (wheeljack made the brains, Megatron the personalities and Shockwave sold the licenses to Pat).
