Galvatron goes as thus:
The one from Target 2006, this Galvy is the Movie one, the one made from Megs.
Fallen Angel all the way to Time Wars, this one had memories of things the Straxatron imposter had, but also remembered Target 2006, so it's been theroized that The Straxatron became Galvy in this altered timeline (real Megs stayed in the Dead End as a raving nutjob?) and when T2006 Galvy came back to the future his past and reality chnaged so now he was always the Straxatron, but also was the T2006 version...whoo boy that didn't make much sense now did it...
AFter Time Wars, we next see Galvy in Aspects of Evil in a flahback. This is supposed to be the same Galvy from the previous stories, but from the newly corrected timeline where he never went back in time ever. So he's the REAL Megatron again.
The Galvy in Rhythms of Darkness and the one in PErchnace to dream are Galvy's from differant timelines altogether.
Geez, can't we get any other future TFs to time-travel?!

For more Galvatron timeliney business, here's a little diagram I put together outlining various time travel, divergences in history, and the like.

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

That was because I could see that there was probably some kind of divergence, but couldn't see anything to indicate where that divergence occured.Rebis wrote:Bad skills, Mr B. You've left a bubble empty.
Nice. We've got different divergence points and end points, but both systems work. Here's one I made earlier (circa 2002, I think).
Mine's more colourful, though.

Well, personally I reckon that Straxatron might not have happened in the movie timeline. I figure that Prime's actions in Prey were at least partly a result of events in Target: 2006. Without those events, Prime and Megs might not have visited Cybertron. On the other hand, there is the issue of Galvatron's flashbacks in Time Wars, but then he was utterly insane at that point, so I can just ignore them.Legion wrote:nice diagram, but neither of them mention Straxatron being made into Galvatron as an alternative to Megatron becoming him!

Ah, that's why i stick to my theory that each time a time jump occurs a new divergence point is created, so T:2006 and Fallen Angel are both divergant points. The Movie still happens after T:2006 but doesn't after Fallen Angel. Therefore in Movie timeline #2 Straxatron becomes Galvatron - and it is (judging from the flashback in timewars) this Galvatron that comes back - it's a bit of a paradox in that he's the same Galvatron that travelled back in T:2006, so technically he created his own creation timeline... a predestination paradox... every timetravel plot has to have one of those!Bouncelot wrote:Well, personally I reckon that Straxatron might not have happened in the movie timeline. I never considered Straxatron became Galvatron.
Not after it was revealed that Straxatron was Straxatron and not Megatron, anyway.

All the ones I've been involved with. And maybe one other.Brendocon wrote:I wonder exactly how many topics have devolved into trying to figure out the comic timelines since I've been at this board...

I think it would be best to simply not waste our time on these sorts of things and just accpet it was a retcon that screwed with some things, and get on with our lives...
And what I meant over the time-travel thing is that each time travel story had something mjaor to do with Galvatron, even the Cyclonus Scourge thing since the portla they went through was originally meant to capture Galvatron.
I mean having a Time story that had nothing to do with Galvy, maybe some other Cons or Bots trying to screw with the timeline.

But, without wasting our time on these sorts of things, wouldn't there be gaping holes in the discussion? Or, *gasp*, no discussion at all?ShadowSonic wrote:I think it would be best to simply not waste our time on these sorts of things and just accpet it was a retcon that screwed with some things, and get on with our lives...
Like the one where Prowl possesses his Underbase-era self to protect the timeline from a Megatron-possessed Snap Trap? And what I meant over the time-travel thing is that each time travel story had something mjaor to do with Galvatron, even the Cyclonus Scourge thing since the portla they went through was originally meant to capture Galvatron.

Plus, it's fun. Personally, I really enjoy trying to work out things like this. And if you think the Transformers Comic timelines is a big headache, you've never tried to put dates to all of Doctor Who's UNIT stories. I'm surprised I'm still sane after doing that.Rebis wrote:But, without wasting our time on these sorts of things, wouldn't there be gaping holes in the discussion? Yeah, let's just all accept that the comic is full of stupid retcons and not worry about it!
And that the cartoon is full of ridiculous animation errors and plot holes!
And that the Dreamwave comics are full of one-dimensional characterisations and existed solely to fill Pat Lee's pocket, but are otherwise absolutely perfect, so there's no need to ever discuss them as they're self-explanatory and if you can't understand it's because you've not read all of the writer's interviews, you fool!
Let us never worry about any of them again. Let's not even discuss them, as it's a complete waste of time. Blatantly.
Alright, Paul. You can shut the site down, now. Time for us to do something constructive with our lives...

Careful, I got called a blasphemer for wanting to leave the computer and go outside.
Anyway, problem solving is a great execise in imagination. It also helps improve storywriting - should you ever want to do that. Filling in the gaps is fun, and although I don't always join in with these in-depth discussions, I still read them to see all the variant ways people try to make problems with the comic/cartoon continuities work. It's almost as entertaining as the original stories themselves. And should two people disagree stongly and try to make their cases heard, then I'm gonna grab me some popcorn and sit back for the show. And then nick BOTH ideas for my own stories.
