Yeah, I was referring to Masterpiece (MP) Optimus, not a mysterious Alternator Optimus.
You would make a hulk of an Alt out of Megatron because A, he's a leader, and B, since Alternators are popular, there's no reason why Hasbro wouldn't want to cash in more by having Alternators at the 29.99 and 49.99 price points.
And a complete and utter ditto to what Computron said.

Or maybe they'll just make a giant Shockwave with a crown, call it Emperor Shockwave, and charge 75 bucks.
All kidding aside, when and if they do introduce jets, it seems as though, given the current pattern, the mythology, and Hasbro's penchant for making money, we're going to see Autobot jets.
Do you think they'll be actual Auto jets (like Swindle and Dead End were to cars) or Autobots stuck into jets (like Shockwave and Ravage)?

If they did 'Bot jets, I'd expect to see Jetfire, Silverbolt, Skydive, Air Raid and Fireflight, at least; we know they've used the names recently, and they're all prominant characters.Shanti418 wrote:Do you think they'll be actual Auto jets (like Swindle and Dead End were to cars) or Autobots stuck into jets (like Shockwave and Ravage)?

But what do you think about the exclusive use of Alternators in the G1 comic?spiderfrommars wrote:Interesting rumour. One I could just about live with.
Ditching Mick's ongoing saga is realistic if they want to pull in new readers. Besides, the fembots were just about to start pouting. Other than that the tale was just staring to get interesting tho.
But... no news on Energon?

No, and that's something I just realised myself. I simply took for granted, since they didn't mention any Cybertron comic either..spiderfrommars wrote:But... no news on Energon?
Shanti, I think it's safe to assume that a grand total of some Transfans, (Spidey included perhaps??), found Best Firsts reply to the situation to be pretty spot on,universal if not.Shanti418 wrote:But what do you think about the exclusive use of Alternators in the G1 comic?

That is a safe ssumption.Shanti418 wrote:I think I'll assume that Besties was referring to the horrid news on the comic front.
To be honest my biggest concern is the Gi Joe bit at the end. This clearly demonstrates that once again TFs are ultimatly in the hands of people who have NO IDEA how to milk the spectacular potential that TFs have.
Instead we will get more psuedo cartoon fan wank as our main slice of the G1 loaf and of course people who have no ambitions for TFs beyond a constant rehashing of the same 3 plots and a Sixshot cameo will lap it up like Candi Suxx at a gangbang.
Would like to see Energon concluded. sigh.

I'm neutral. I'll hold judgement till I see it. It doesn't rule out a G1 title completely, just for the time being.Shanti418 wrote:

Perhaps the movie is promoting Alternators then?
Anyway, its just a rumour, so I'm not going to speculate too much.

I can imagine people crying over the fact that Mick's story being ditched, I think it was mostly 'meh' with bits of interest and some confused plots and themes stretched to breaking point.
Oh well, it's hope this story is up to a proper standard.

People just want to see the story end, even if the story is crap. But there's no reason that another company should be forced to follow its ancestor's continuity, any more than DW followed Marvel. And even if DW had lived, Chirs Sachs would have just wrapped it up quickly (and most likely poorly) and people still would be longing for the proper end to Mick's "Transformers:The Movie:The Comic Book" saga.

There aren't many books I've put down midway through (an unabridged volume of The Stand by Stephen King being chief amongst them, and Hardwired almost made it there) but Dreamwave's G1 series could happily be added to the list...Shanti418 wrote:People just want to see the story end, even if the story is crap.

I've abandoned a couple of King's over the years, though I found later that they are much more palatable if you read the first 50 and last 50 pages, since those are the only places where anything of note happens in his books. When I read the Tommyknockers, for example, I was skipping four chapters at a time in the middle section, with no discernible impact on the story.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!
