AYE! You can take em' Big Grim! It's not about how strong or skilled you are, it's about how much you can take, and still come back for more!
I tried a bit to do this one in a style as similar as best I could, to the one that Josh used on BW and Stormbreaker, what do you guys think? The background is painted on with a whole bunch of different brushes.
EDIT: AAARrgh! I just noticed a few details that I forgot to fix before finishing it...
EDIT2: Details fixed.

It's going in the right direction then. ^^Best First wrote:you're definitely getting better atthis - not a fan of the background colours tho.
I can understand the background is not everyones cup of tea, as it's mostly an attempt at some artsy experimentation with brushes. Guess the general idea was to create some kind of volcanic pollution in the air or something...

my main issue with the background is that, combined with the characters pallettes, its a bit drab, not to mention that the bottom background shade blends with both Magnatrons purple and Grimmey's grey, making them less distinct from the background.
That, and it just doens't look like anything - purple into brown = eh?
..especially as the floor is apparently grey judging by the detritus being kicked up.

yeah I have to agree, I think the background upsets the art work on the characters, it all blends into one too easily.
Somthing I like to do, and I assume the background is on a a different layer u can change - star by applying a gradient from top to bottom . u can quickly change the colours and try and find somthing that contrasts your main focus.
Personaly i think some darm material on the floor, like earth and hard stones - perhaps just glimpses of light catching the edges of rock might work.
If its to be in front of a volcanon, perhaps just put them in front of a spire of direct fire, somthing explosive, powerfull and bright - maybe this light casts a light rays across the two TF in the main shot?

Could work, if it's good and well into the distance. The background is actually based on a gradient, and then I used a dosen or so brushes on it.
The light-sources on the bots are then based on the colour nearest to them in the background.
I got some good and well interesting pics in me mind from yer ideas Impy, I'll see if I can reproduce them tho. I suppose you guys want a special Transfans-variant with a new background then? ^^

I reality I should use the edit-function, but how is anyone going to tell if there's an update then..?
Anyways, I've started work on an alternate background with a volcano, thinking about adding lens-blur to it, and removing the black lines at the bottom.
Hmm, maybe a bit more muted green at the bottom..? What do you guys think?
