3D Optimus Prime animations

My friend/co-worker Vince worked long and hard on this. He compressed it in Flash so he could upload it for everyone to see. Enjoy.

Hey, I see here that Josh was involved too, awesome Mizta Jonez! :)

Especially like the part where the trailer transforms.

That was really cool-is it for a game, or just something that was done for fun?

Either way, awesome stuff. :)

it's good. That kind of talent has potential. too bad that took 9 months to do.

Seeing the last bit with Spike, makes me yearn for the day, that people can do that kind of stuff a lot faster and easier, and re-do the entire G1 series, with that kind of animation.

And for the comic fans, even recreate and animate the entire comic storyline with that kind of technology. A lot of money can be made if a few people got together and put stuff like this in motion

thanks for the compliments folks. I was pretty much alone on this project for quite some time. thats why it took 9 months.

By the way... the team has been assembled and were going to try and make all the TF fans happy... well do our best... from one TF fan to another, we'll do our best...

Hey, GeneralSoundwave? Maybe you could have a word with Impactor Returns2.0, on this board, maybe he'd be interested in helping out in whatever small way he can? :)

I'm going to bet, on these projects, no matter how small the contribution, everything helps?

Good work, I presume this is for a game engine, Unreal 2 perhaps?

It an impresive ammount of texture work you have there, not to mention all the character rigging!

I wonder what OP would like running on the UT3 engine, you could use normal maps and stuff, even have animated normal maps for damage etc...

u set me off now alas, im stuck rendering products and such now, the most creative fun i get using 3d max at the moment is my own personal work thats currently all geared towards warhammer 40k, I havent done any 3D TF for quite a few years now, wish I had the time :(

Unreal 2, Old News

Post by GeneralSoundwave » Tue May 20, 2008 2:31 pm

Hey Impactor.... We threw it into unreal 2 to see what it looked like and it does work properly... both Root and Alt Modes.... hes getting a makeover right now.... the animations will remain, the model is changing. our goal is Unreal3. Check out what Dr. Fujiyama looks like in the Unreal3 Engine:
