Almost entirely finished, I'm thinking about applying perspective-blurr, but I'm not entirely sure about it yet.

I thought it was a picture of Superman flying in the Sun's corona, with his back to its surface. Which would make the 'fire in the sky' the Sun itself, and the 'ground' space.Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:my intention, far from perfect is to make superman stand out as if bathed in light. I have picked my light sources as the fire in the sky, and this has allowed me to make the ground very dark.
Please, buy me one.Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:I'm a bit lucky as ive got a stylus to paint with and its got all the pressure sensitive/tilt things that make them rather cool. ie.
its easier to get a better more organic line then a mouse.
Actually, I'd like to see that, I'm a really rather big fan of Quitely's stuff.Predabot wrote:Do you want the original drawing card-board version with info about bleed and such that Quitely did

Well, I can't speak for Impy, but I live to give!I really like Pred's version of Impy's rendition, the Sun and the lighting effects are great, so vibrant and bright but still retaining form.
The...shades(?) of colour on the first Pred version on Supes himself were fun to look at as well. Thanks for posting these guys!
That's actually something that's been touched upon in Superman before, when Hal Jordan - The Green Lantern reignited the sun after it had been nearly swallowed by a Sun-eater, Superman recharged his then waning powers in a quickie manor by flying close to it, and this had the effect that since the sun was ultra-active at the time, he got over-loaded. And during the course of a few weeks he turned into the blue energy-Superman. So apparently there's a limit to as to how much energy Supermans cells can absorb until the charge have harmfull adverse effects on him.I'm not up on Supes lore, so didn't know about the red sun thing, but in the comic his being that close to it does seem to have had a very pronounced effect on his biology.
