I did this here colour-reinterpretation of this old cover for Jack Kirbys New Gods #2 not so long ago. Time I got myself in gear and posted it here.
Anyways, I hope some of you lads like it.
Critique can always be fired away, of course.
Old 70's colours that I of course used as reference.

This lass likes it! I almost fell off my chair in surprise as i saw anything New Gods related shown on this board. Great work!
After watching Superman TAS and JL/JLU and catching glimpses of New Genesis and Apokolyps and it's inhabitants (especially Darkseid and Orion) i got interested and started collecting New God and Orion comics.

Preads you have come of age.
That is the best bit of work I have seen you produce, its clear, concise and well executed it terms of colour.
If I was to be more picky and this is to help you find more style in your work its to look at the chrome/silver colours, try adding thin streaks of say blue or yellow. and some flash streaks some style - otherwise its very well handled, I can see where you have learnt valuable lessons in digital colouring.
Good stuff man.

Thanks Impster, it's something of a stamp of quality hearing that from you, and I think I agree with your sentiment. I use much more advanced tecniques for my colouring now.
For some reason... when I was doing this piece, everything became so simple, Jack Kirby had with just a few lines told me exactly how he wanted everything, the man was an utter genius, and his work continues to make us all better even now.
Snakeguru, I'm working on another New Gods-colouring with Big Barda currently, so you'll probably be seeing that on this site down the road.
Also: coming up is my awesomest project ever.. an All Star Superman 2-page spread..!

I'm going to look forward to seeing how you tackle that one. Jamie Grant has such a distinctive colouring style, it'll be interesting to see colours by someone else on work associated with him.Predabot wrote:Also: coming up is my awesomest project ever.. an All Star Superman 2-page spread..!
The New Gods work is great.
Cheers for sharing
