H*ll yeah! Spidey's getting his ass whooped in this page from Ultimate Spider-man #79. I saw the blank lineart at Newsarama, and just knew that I had to have a stab at colouring it.
Now, I coloured this without looking, or knowing what the original looked like. The idea is that it's supposed to be at a late hour of the day, at dusk sorta. Therefore everything is sporting an orange palette.
Here's the original for comparrison. As the scholared ones will notice, the line-art is of course by the masterful Mark Bagley. One of my favorite artists.
Also to note, is that in order to acctually simplify the process, of colouring, I skipped out on the shades-layer, and went straight for an only highlights-layer.
How a piece with a shades-layer can look like, have a looksee here.

Very nice, Preds.
Just looking at it as a reader, while I dig what you did, it does miss some shading. The flatter orange backgrounds make Spidey less distinct. Cool work tho.
Any advice for colouring in artwork? I seem to recall there was a tutorial linked to floating about here at one stage...
edit: found it.

Thanks Besters! One day I'll reach the point where you'll see the wisdom of using my services for Transfest. ( hehe, I gotta fish for transfest at any given moment, 'cause working together on a team to make a real comic-mag is so darn fun! )
Yeah, MiztaJonz, *ve discovered to the awesomeness that is Moon Knight! The new series from outa' Marvel is one of my favs right now. ^^
