My first serious attempt at a Transformer pic ever. Rightfully so one of the coolest and rather underrated characters, the Quintesson Judge. This obviously is the sketch I started with. You'll notice though the top of the body will look as if it's caved in. I didnt realise this until after I had already drew it and scanned it, but I did fix it in the later stages.

Other pictures are there too. Such as an inked in version of the same picture. As well as two others (non TF related). Kazuo Kiriyama from Battle Royale, and a zombie.

Yeah, that's some good stuff. :) More quints please.(Pehaps Energons Alpha Quintesson..?) One minor thing I noticed tho, is that for some reason it looks as if it looses some detail in inked form? :eyebrow:

The Imperial Majestrix has reached a verdict...

Not bad for a first try!

Welcome to the board. :)

Yeah, sadly it does seem to lose that detail it had in penciled form. Which is why I usually never do things like this, but I figured I'd try it anyway. I'm colouring right now, which will still be a bit flat, but hopefully when it's all said and done with, it will look far better than what I started with.

Alpha Q eh? yeah, I think I can pull that off after this. This here though is really my first attempt at this, so bare with me, heh.

Thanks for the comments, any and all are welcome, keep 'em coming.

Here I've started colouring it. I'm a tad iffy on the colour scheme as finding pics of him has proven a bit difficult. So, just let me know what you think.

Hey, not bad. :) Maybe a few textures and some highlights and shades and you'll be kickin!

Work in progress, I've got shades going on it now. I've updated it again, and will gradually do so so you can see my progress.

Okay guys, I'm at a loss now. I think it is coming along nicely, but if you'd notice the top, I think it's a bit bland..maybe, I'm not too sure. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for it? Infact anything I can throw in, make it a bit more interesting if possible.

Hmm..perhaps some depth-inducing bulge of a texture? You coul always shade it so that the gridpattern look thick, like bricks together.

yeah, something like that. What I'm trying right now is shading the grid so that the blocks appear raised, so far, just with that little extra bit of detail it seems to make a difference.

Heh, we think alike. That is rather kewl.

Here's that little lineart tutorial by the way. :)

First, you are on the layer wich contains the drawing.

Layers -> New mask layer -> From Image

In the dialog-box that pops up you choose Source luminance. Remember to check the Invert Mask Data box.

Then you just follows these images, cause me writing text to go with them is pretty pointless. You know what you're doing.

Voila! Here's the lineart. :) The multiply layer-mode is optional, I just found that in images wich are a bit bright in the lines it makes them a bit more clear. You could always darken the lines more should you need to.

Weee! Wootness! :) The dome still looks a wee bit hollowed out, but some creative shading have improved it immensely. Well, go on! :D You know what, and how, to do! Put that leet background there and finnish the pic! :)
