Im about to start investing alot of time and effort into laying the groundwork for this MUD. Im going to need some coders if anyone wants to help. Wife and Kids will be in Louisiana for a whole month and Im going to need something to keep me busy.

Hoooooo! A TF MUD, eh? That's a tall order!
What with all the OO involved, not to mention things like attributes for mobiles, players, locations, interfaces, items, weapons, armour, etc. And then there's things like language, race, starting positions, quests, fuel/life, size, speed, strength, etc.
Not that that should put you off, in any way.
I remember a long, long time ago, I tried to make a MUD (not a TF one!), and, not knowing about OO, it was quite involved, and not very successful. In fact, it wasn't a MUD at all, it was just a flimsy text adventure.
Still, having played LP- and PK-MUDs, I know a little bit about their workings.
Most important thing to do, before any coding is done at all, is to decide exactly what you want. Although, this is true of the development of any application, obviously*.
* Micro$haft software excluded.

I have EXTENSIVE PK-MUD experience. Never done any IMP work though, most IMM work Ive done was as a Builder/RP IMM. Im no good at working in the shell though.
If you are interested in it, I would GLADLY accept your help.Ill give you any and all information you need. I have been planning this out very meticulously and now just need to start applying myself to it.

I'm interested, obviously. It's an interesting project.
Howver spare time in which to commit to such a project is unfortunately at something of a premium for the next few weeks.
I'd like to help, I'm sure I can contribute in some small way or other, but I couldn't be certain of how much a contribution I'd be able to make.
And, I have no idea what IMM and IMP mean, but I gather they're things that are only available to those who have modification access to the structure of a MUD, rather than your average player.
Also, I tend to be someone who'll reinvent the wheel to determine how it works, rather than use someone else's in order to make a car go.

Dont worry bout the next few weeks. Im going to be going like mad until around the 15th. Wife and Kids are going back home to Louisiana for a month or so to visit her family. During that time Im going to start laying groundwork.
Yes IMM = MOD and IMP= Besters with the power to kill. You wanna reinvent the wheel, be my guest The great thing is I have a huge player base that I can call on at any time to play from my old days as a MUDer. My best friend (the one I went to party with in NO) owns his own Vampyre MUD. so hed be helping on and off as well. If I can get ahold of either my ex girlfriend or a couple of other friends who coded thier own we can take off in NO time.

Yo Rebo! Still interested? Got ahold of a coder. Karly, you might be interested in this as well. Most code is in C or SQL.
Heres the concept:
Mobs
Mobs will be from any and all TF lines. Thus there will be many versions of Convoy/Prime/Megatron etc. There will also be other cannon concepts such as Empties, Paradrons, Sharkticons, etc to act as filler for the different worlds/cities.
Players
All players will start as protoforms, without the ability to transform. They will train and build up for a few levels until around 5, at which time they will be brought to vector sigma and given new bodies and the ability to transform.
This will be from a random table so noone gets to choose thier own ALT mode. It would suck to have everyone be a tank or laser pistol, etc. At this time they will be given the chance to change thier name.
From this point on players can choose to be from the factions listed below, or be an Empty. Being an empty has obvious advantages/disadvantages.
There will be 7 different factions (clans) to start.
Good: Autobots
Maximals
Wreckers
Evil: Decepticons
Predacons
Seekers
Neutral: Junkions
Now, there will be changes of factions and such. Leaders will rise and fall, some factions will join and some will fight amongst themselves.
Character Devolpment
As stated earlier, all cannon characters will be Mobs. If you want a particular characters special ability ie. Teleport, you would have to hunt down Skywarp. If you wanted Invisibility, youd go after Mirage, etc. Actual TF's have been battle hardened for millenia and will not go down easy. This will be the main difference between most MUDs and this one. Mobs are no joke. Noone wants to have everyone with every ability in the book. Or as a flip side, we could limit the number of special abilities to 3 or so. Even 1.
Attacking cannon Mobs can suck if youre a Decepticon wanting cerebro shells (charm person), If you attack, you will in turn lose aligment, lose too much alignment, get it handed to ya by the other Decepticon Mobs and players. Same applies to Autobots.
Quest Eq
Thought about this one alot.. Came to a simple conclusion: Minicons
Only Armada Characters will have them and they will be ESPECIALLY hard to defeat. Access to the Armada Universe can only be granted to those above a certain level. Minicons are EXCLUSIVE so if someone has Leader 1, noone else can have him no matter how many times Megatron is killed.
There is a power limit like the PS2 TF game. You can not have all the members of the space team, race team, and air attack team.. That would be BAD.
Worlds
Cybertron, Earth, Paradron, Planet of Junk,Unicron.. As the game progresses and builds, more planets would be built. Each planet will have cities on it of course, aside from Unicron. Hell have body segments.
Thats all I can think of at this time. Any other questions direct at me and I will do my best to answer them.

I use to play in a MUD (that I don't beleive is public so I'll just withhold its name) and I enjoyed it enough that the friend that got me into that MUD made me a 'god' in the MUD she was helping organize and create. I don't recall if god is the right term but I made my own island for that game before I ended up leaving.
So I must say I am pretty interested in your idea and while while I may not be able to help with the actual code, I might be a hand in helping create the world, depending on the interface.

cool, cool. Im actually in the process of negotiating a shell and bandwidth with a MUD server company
and God is a correct term Builders would be MOST helpful. Think the best area I ever designed was a tiny maze.. 4 rooms that looped in on one another and all looked the same. there were 2 exits and one was certain death and one was freedom, but if you werent paying very close attention it was damn impossible to tell which exit was which.
do you have any ideas for areas that you might want to build?

I made an island using 98 of the 100 rooms I was allowed access to (left two for however they decided to connect it to the mainland) and kind of pulled the user along a straight line through it, with a few side paths and one teleportation area to jump to a place I found out was hard to get to. I tried to paint an idea of a story with out coming out and saying what it was.
Areas I can deal with would probably be earth sites, and places covered in the G1 Cartoon. I don't really have anything specific in mind.
