Be nice...
On the 25th May, to celebrate the release of the video game Transformers: War for Cybertron, a nationwide competition was launched to find the nation’s biggest Transformer aficionado. Over four weeks and 300 entries later, we can finally reveal who this fanatical enthusiast is….12yr old Jack Gaughan from Glasgow!!
With over 600 toys, games, official merchandise and memorabilia, Jack’s collection stood out by a mile. His Transformer themed room, which was adorned with posters of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, was just a small highlight of Jack’s ultimate collection. For his efforts, Jack has won a priceless life-sized drawing of himself as one of his favourite characters by official Transformer artist Jon Davis Hunt, to add to his ever growing collection.
Jack said of his amazing feat “I just can’t believe it. I’ve been collecting for three years and love everything about Transformers. I don’t think there is an inch of space on my walls left for anything else!!”
Transformers: War for Cybertron, released 25th June, is a gripping, 3rd person action shooter set on the Transformers’ war-ravaged homeland. Complete with several multiplayer modes, the game allows gamers to play through story missions with their friends in co-op, as well as create their own Transformers character for competitive head-to-head multiplayer modes, choosing among four distinct character classes and selecting from a huge variety of weapons, skills and abilities. I'm relieved to see a kid winning a "biggest fan" contest. I'd probably be a bit sad inside if some 25-35 year old had won it.
There might possibly have been some form of screening involved. All the adults who entered that contest are now on government watchlists or something.

My entry simply saying "I read far to many of those **** IDW comics, I mean come on, I've got to be a superfan for that" must have gotten lost in the post.
Though, as worthy as he undoubtedly is, couldn't they have found another way than material possessions to judge it? They've basically just found the richest fan in the country.

It might all have been bought on sale. It might mostly have been gifts from extended family.inflatable dalek wrote:Though, as worthy as he undoubtedly is, couldn't they have found another way than material possessions to judge it? They've basically just found the richest fan in the country.
If we're going by material measure, the Moonies should walk it. I'm just happy to see it go to a nipper.

Had to look this up on Urban Dictionary and I found:Hot Shot wrote:So it turns out I've been playing Team Fortress 2 with this kid/guy almost every weekend for most of this year.
He's a nice guy.
And a brony.
And being surrounded by bronies made me a brony too.
Resistance is futile.
So is this what you're talking about? Team Fortress 2 is rife with bronies? Who somehow overlook the genius of the Care Bears, She-Ra, AND Strawberry Shortcake? I'm all for gender neutrality, but My Little Pony? They don't even have variant editions! They don't even have emotions! There's no way you could ever write them in a comic because they're F***ING HORSES!!!! [/mikecosta]1. Brony
A name typically given to the male viewers/fans (whether they are straight, gay, bisexual, etc.) of the My Little Pony show or franchise. They typically do not give in to the hype that males aren't allowed to enjoy things that may be intended for females.

Well, the current show reminds me of Looney Toons and early 2000's Cartoon Network more than My Little Pony itself, so that was part of the appeal for me.
