Off the cover alone I'm not feeling good vibes off Drift#2. Looks like some sort of cheesy ninja gang of TFs. Would like to give McCarthy the benefit of the doubt, but he doesn't half love incoporating the cliches in his writing.
The Ongoing cover is intriguing - Thundercracker allied with the Autobots? I hope the Combaticons vaguely resemble their representation in SL:Arcee. I kinda liked the way the four of them (minus Swindle) were like some sort of ace Decepticon kill team.

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

The drift covers make it look like there has been a general failure to realise why Drift is a bit sh*t in the first place. Then again so does comissioning the series.
As an aside his Toy looks quite nice.
Pleased at the suggestion that TC might actually switch sides, not to keen on the cover art tho. Plus the idea that TC is more effective in combat with someone balancing on his back.... wank.
I'm getting a real DW ongoing feeling about the whole affair at present.
But DW never did anything close to LSOTR in quality (WW was nice but not amazing in my book, at least in retrospect) so.... hmm.

The toy is nice, as is straxus! Wouldn't a 'Roche-esk' Impactor toy be great as well?Best First wrote:The drift covers make it look like there has been a general failure to realise why Drift is a bit sh*t in the first place. Then again so does comissioning the series.

If IDW TF books were British football teams they would be:
'Tion' Series - Liverpool (excellent for the most part with the occasional blip. Never seem to break to quite break into 'award winning' contention)
Ongoing - Blackburn (neither here nor there, generally consistent but not pretty to watch. Veers from great through to average and occasionally utter *****!)
Megatron Origin - Hull (showed hints of promise, but generally rather rubbish)
LSOTW - Man United (a masterclass in performance, and consistently excellent)
AHM - Derby *in their last premier league campaign* (utter garbage, record lowest points tally for a premier team ever).
I say that as a Derby fan, and although I love'em, that particular season was the most depressing season of football I have ever experienced.

Oh yeh! I forgot Bumblebee!
BB Series - Portsmouth *this season* (poor in so many respects, it's just hilarious!)
And my predictions for some current projects:
Ironhide - Fulham (pleasantly surprising and possibly punching above its weight!)
Drift - Blackpool (lamb to the slaugher)
