I think it would have sat better as part of the existing comic, improving it rather than making a whole new one.

That said the UK TF comic seems to be doing very well indeed. When I flick through it, past the kids drawings and letters, its rather clear that this ain't my Transformers comic anymore. But thats how it should be.
