IGN.com have an interview with Orci, the writer for TF:M2 and also the new Star Trek movie.
Orci reveals one of the new TF to be in the sequal to last summers blockbuster movie.

Sounds pretty good actually. Particularly since they are implying that it might well be not just ONE, but TWO new characters introduced. Old classics that certainly deserve to be in the movies.

Interesting that they also mention that with the increased budget they can actually have the Transformers on-screen for longer periods of time, basically doing more scenes focusing on character-building and less on action.
