... which, looking at a fandom as a whole, is rather spot on, right? :o

Ironside?

Sorry, I'm bitching. ;)

Shame about the extras tho. I was hoping for some kind of comic history, like they do on most comic film DVD releases. The fact that TFs also have cartoons/toys should have given them even more material.

I'm not saying we're not bitchy, but I don't think the movie was a case of the fanboys crying wolf, either. The reviewer basically has the opinion, "Man, those Transformers fans are a bunch of whiners, but this spectacular piece of filmmaking sure shut THEM up, didn't it?"

And crappy extras? Boo.

Update the title thread please, because:

Somewhat importantly, the HD-DVD version of the TF:M is also out on release, it features (obviously) the entire movie in HD, and also has some extras on the disc.
Its worth noting, that due to Paramount owning TF:M, this film will not be on BluRay - sorry PS3 owners...

Feature list:
  • Commentary with Michael Bay

    Heads-Up Display (HD Exclusive)

Paramount HD Connect Web-Interactivity (HD Exclusive)

    Tech Inspector (HD Exclusive)

    The Story Sparks

    Human Allies

    I Fight Giant Robots

    Battleground

    Rise of the Robots

    Autobots Roll Out

    Decepticon's Strike

    Inside the AllSpark

From Script to Sand: The Scorponock Attack

    Concept Art

According to TFW2005 there are also some screencaps and interviews with Bay about the early production designs and fan reaction. I bet that won't be in any way smug and self-aggrandising! :o

Review rings a bit hollow to me- not everyone dislikes the 2007 flick just because it's 'different' and neither have we all now suddenly been converted to loving it by its sheer awesomeness.

Though I must say my main gripe is "The real stars are supporting cast". The supporting cast were at best mostly pointless detours and at worst painful- the film was carried by the lead humans imo.

some of the story never worked for me, like the hackers and stuff, thier role started well, and then just veered off into know where. ah well.

Yar, that while detour was just weird. At least the government agent chap had something to do with where the story was going. The Ozzy hacker and her chum just seemed there to offer an alternative to Sam for air-time filler between explosions.

On that note, Mojo needs his own spinoff show.
