Mostly defending the designs. Makes some good points but doesn't seem to have a lot of passion for the project--possibly burned out by fan reaction?

It all sounds very much like:

"We listened to the fans, but I didnt like what they had to say, so I did it my way instead, and to be honest, I didnt understand the franchise at all"

He pretty much doesn't even answers the question about the flames on Prime.

And he confuses G1 Soundwave and G1 Frenzy... :(

Interestingly, this video seems to have brought out the people not liking the movie over at TFW2005. Lately, I was bashed at by everyone, in the movie topics, if I voiced my opinion... seemed like I was the only one not blown away by the gorgeous CGI...

I rather would be curious as to why:

-We know no voice actors for the TFs yet other then Cullen (OP), Weaving (Megs) and Keith David (Goliat... erm, Barricade) less then a month before the movie...
-We never heard any of the TFs save Prime speak in the trailers...
-So far not many new scenes (IE: not in the leaked script) were shown in the trailers, the only one being OP vs. Bonecrusher (who'll have a little longer lifespan according to this). This confirms that there'll be not much more robot/robot talking scenes in the last 20 mins, it'll mostly be all action.
-I'm still worried that a very disturbing idea from the script have made the final cut... if so, fan uproar will be tremendous, even Bay supporters will be outraged at this.

Btw, an earlier trailer confirmed the script, that the Allspark does do mass-shifting. So Murphy's arguments as to why Soundwave couldn't be a boombox are pretty much invalid.

I'm at school so can't view this yet.

On a slightly similar vein, did anyone see the MTV Movie Awards? They were pimping Transformers like it was going out of style. Thankfully (unless I missed this part), there was no award presented by Bumblebee or anything like that.

They DID invent a new catagory which Transformers won, though: Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet. How assinine is that?

Bay said on the show that he just finished editing the movie. And they showed a "behind the scenes" trailer, which was basically the actors talking about how much action there is.

Anyway, point is, the PR crapfest convinced me that although Transformers is still on a collision course for a "Godzilla" like artistic splash, I think that the buzz will withstand it, and the financial returns will warrant a sequel.

And the sequel, like almost all movies, would be better off with Christopher Nolan directing. lol

Better yet, scrap the old movie storyline and have "Transformers Begins". :D

He does sound burned out. He explains the flames tho, they were apparently something that only came from him personally, he just wanted flames on Optimus. Simple as that. And when you think about it, that's probably the only logical explanation there is.

The footage was nice. :)

Yeah, I re-watched it and that's what he says. Bah.

Btw, ever since I know Prime will be a long-nose truck to be on scale with Megatron, I've been watching trucks on the road. There are lots of flat-nosed trucks that have enough extra baggage and bulky and high cabs that they could be as large as the current OP in robot mode.... Ah well. Kids of today will think of OP now as a blue long-nosed truck with flames. I wonder if Hot Rod ever appears in a sequel, what will they do to make his flames more distinct then Prime's?
