I was surprised they were able to hurt Galvy. I like that in this universe, the TFs are not as uber-powerful as back in Marvel, where the Hub essentially ruled half the universe and conquered most worlds without any resistance (making it even more odd why none of the races blamed the attacks on Cybertron).
In fairness they used a 'comet' busting weapon, which looked like a ship sized laser cannon to down Galvatron, considering its probably capable of busting comets its amazing Galvatron survived.
Are we talking TimeWars here? When was it called a 'comet' buster? Wasn't it just a prototype 'Con cannon called a Pathblaster or something?
Oh and Galvy only survived because it wasn't a direct hit... if Roadbuster hadn't only clipped the side of his head, his whole head would've been vapourised and then he would have been pretty deaded...

In the link to the new 5-page galvy spotlight, some alien race fires a ship sized comet busting weapon at Galvatron, that knocks him out but not out for good... the crew get whats comming to them.
As for the Pathblaster, it could be argued that the PB hit galvatrons face, probably the least armoured section of his body, so perhaps that whilst the PB would still cause damage, a shot to the chest might not have been as fatal...

yeah, but the point stands if Roadbuster had got in a better shot Galvy would have no head.
that's actually one of the bits of TW that makes me think its a bit inferior to other epics - Roadbusters charachterisation in that scene is so off what we saw in T2006, when he is contemplative and assured - here is some kind of wierd cowboy with piss poor reactions.
SF does like his exploding powercores though, as Misfire's face and Finbacks lack of one will atest.
Powerwise - I think godlike is an awkward term, but i think one of the benefits of Galvy being a redefined Megs is that it benchmarks him as being a more powerful version of one of the most powerful Tfs ever - someone who is also vastly experienced and skilled as a warrior.
However i also don't think that precludes TFs coming along who are potentially as powerful, or possessed of the right combination of power and skill to take him out - e.g Prime and Mags.

Ah hold, RoadBuster doesnt miss tho does he? he aims for Megatron, and his shot is probably bang on, Galvatron jumps in the way and catchs it across the face.
If RB was aiming for galvy, and missed, that would be a different story.
But yeah, he does act all gung-ho when I always thought of him as a more cool calm and collected SAS type.
How many other TF would have survived the injury Galvatron sustained at the time? and carry on fighting?

?
yeah good point - but i think the key matter is that that weapon could take galvy out if aimed properly.
Pipes would be fine. Strength 9!

Why? Does Galvatron always has to be reformatted from someone else?
Well it's very unlikely he was always so powerful, no? OK maybe he had the same body and he just got internal upgrades and a cannon.

In the ridiculous and not really canon Japanese Headmasters cartoon series, Galvatron tells Sixshot that his head is his only vulnerable point... thus he wants to get a new body, one that's made of the whole planet Earth and he will require body components from all his Decepticons. There is even a pic shown of this new body of his that he's planning, and it look hilarious - imagine the cross Unicron and Homer Simpson, a fat ball with arms and legs sticking out. Later in that episode Counterpunch tells this weakness to the Headmasters who kick Galvy in the head and then use some weird Power-Ranger type power-up attack to bury him under an iceberg.

Ah Headmasters, it got sillier and more self-deprecating with every episode

Maybe whatever happened to his buddy Whirl sent him over the edge?

I love it
. I love the notion the Japanese series had that swapping heads or limbs or genitalia would make the transformers more powerful.
