At least he might be able to express some emotion, although from what I saw it looked pretty goofy. Never entirely been keen on the whole removeable faceplate thing, unless its done just once in a blue moon.
Why it would be more stupid to have human faces I'm not entirely sure.
His voice sounded very strange... why did they go to all the trouble of hiring Cullen to please the maintstream fans only to distort his voice so it could be anybody?

I know what you mean, Yaya. They could've at least given him the silver "facial hair" that Cybertron Prime and Primal had. Not to mention they altered or made Cullen deepen his voice. This pretty much guarantees that this movie will be compared to Godzilla '07 by movie-goers, reviewers, and Transfans alike. I don't watch South Park, but I'm positive that Cartman and the gang will have some fun with this.

Paramount has erased every one on youtube and the site which originally posted it is under routine maintenence. Seibertron has a pic on the front page if you just want to see the face. It sounds like Paramount took it off because everyone got upset about it and reminded the others that got used to the designs why they initially hated it. It seems like there are three things that most of the fanbase agrees on: Movie Prime is a disgrace, Movie Megatron is terribly ****ed-up, and Movie Starscream eats bananas while pecking the ground.

The thumb-nail pic on Seibertrons frontpage is so grainy I can hardly see a damn thing... But alas, we've already known he was going to have a battle-mode and such, so isn't this pretty much the same thing as Optimus Primals face-plate?
Better lips then bug-jaws, right?
Why don't we have a swear-filter on the front-page btw? Too tricky to figure out the necessary code?

If you mean Primal's TV "faceplate", then no, it isn't the same thing. Optimus Primal (as you hopefully know) was a different character from Prime. Also, Movie Prime doesn't have any indication or substitute of a faceplate in "normal" mode. Not to mention Movie Prime has a nose 1/4 the size of his face and so many jumbled pieces on his mouth that you can't tell where it is exactly. Comparing Movie Prime and Primal is like apples and oranges. Plus, I see that pic on the front page just fine. You may just be hoping you aren't seeing it clearly. I'm pretty sure that "chin" is his lower lip, but as I said, those "millions of parts" make it hard to focus on a single area.Predabot wrote:The thumb-nail pic on Seibertrons frontpage is so grainy I can hardly see a damn thing... The swearing filter is a simple find-and-replace function of phpBB, the whole site doesn't run through that code as it's custom made and hence doesn't run the swearing filter. It's a lot easier just to ask people to mind their language (the filter is meant to be a reminder of the site rules IMO not a failsafe as it's pretty easy to get around in any case).Predabot wrote:

Try not to spread that link too much. They'll make you delete it if they get wind. Especially the bigger sites like TFW2005 and Seibertron if you have accounts there. The Last Autobot wrote:They didnt erase it from my blog:

I don' get it. Front page?sprunkner wrote:Once again, swearing is not edited on the front page of the site. Way to damn the man, Yaya, but it's getting a little old...
I apologize if somehow those swear words actually went uncensored somewhere somehow. Wouldn't have used them if I knew that was going to be the case.

Don't tell me you use that bad form netiquette technique of by-passing the front page to get to the discussion forums, do you? I mean, it's not as though there's a 10-second cost while you wait for a unicron.wav to play before you can move on.

Actually, it's more like a beak than lips.
Lips might have been more acceptable, but this looks like a bird's beak.
Hopefully, this is just something they got wrong.
How many other heartbreaking revelations til the movie, do you think?

I think all of the trailers so far have looked quite promising, and the designs for the Transformers, whilst unconventional in the eyes of a g1 fan, seem to work well in live action.

Those lips look ridiculous. Whatever happened to the good old-fashioned wobbling faceplate?
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Wouldn't it be possible to contact the old webmaster and promote an administrator here to be the new one?Denyer wrote:Kiddo, the site hasn't had a webmaster since August 2005.Predabot wrote:Why don't we have a swear-filter on the front-page btw? Too tricky to figure out the necessary code?
Also, these sites cost money to run, don't they? Where is the money coming from?

Very potted explanation: TransFans is hosted by TFArchive (which Brendan, the guy whose server it is, is happy to do; AFAIK this place consumes little bandwidth in comparison.) TransFans, the 2003 version (the stuff you see and the content back-end) was built by one guy, who really doesn't have the time for active involvement any more. It's not that we can't contact him, and there are several people here with all of the same server access in any case.
The site could do with a trusted individual (with experience working in PHP and MySQL) who has some time to burn.

I am now available but it depends if I'm trustworthy enough really, if I drop off the face of the Earth for a couple of months again it might cause problems (although I always come back).Denyer wrote:Very potted explanation: TransFans is hosted by TFArchive (which Brendan, the guy whose server it is, is happy to do; AFAIK this place consumes little bandwidth in comparison.)
