Nice to see the healthy interest in the overall line, regardless of newbies jumping in to check out the Movie Prequel.
I don't know if you could call the fandom as being in absolute fervor about the movie at this point (not trying to use "we" or anything :P ), but obviously Ryall's giving the movie the biggest push possible.
The Prequel has been pretty good, once you get past the things that pass for Transformers, and how difficult it is to tell them apart.
I was going to read the responses on that thread, but then the first post said that DW pwns IDW, and I lost my taste for the venture.

Out of the people buying these, probably 40% are people who never liked Transformers and want to go see an "Alien Monster Robot Invasion" movie. Some people who watched the 80's cartoon as a kid probably bought the first issue, shuddered in horror, and threw it away(20%). The third of the fanbase that actually likes most of what Bay has done bought both issues(20%). And the last 20% is fans who don't like and/or care about the movie who bought the comic hoping that their opinion would change. This is an unresearched estimate I just made based on surfing the net, but I'm at least half on the money.
