Woah.

Goes without saying that that doesn't look like any sort of Megatron in way shape or form. But it's certainly interesting.

It looks like a cross between one of the Cylons off of the new BSG (and maybe the old one, I can't remember) and Swamp Thing.

Ah, but does it know that it's a Cylon?

Hmm. If it was for any other film, I'd say 'cool'. Its definitly an interesting design, and obviously original for a TF.

BUT...what is the point in him transforming into a screwed-up, vaugly jet-shaped, spikey-thing. Not much of a disguise, is it! Which hints further to the fact the transforming will just be a wow-factor in this film, rather than any significant contribution to the plot and motivations of the Tfs.

I can understand the cinematic reasons as to why the Decepticons should look monstrous, but to have them being so radically different from the Autobot seems wrong. They are supposed to have a common origin and everything.....

Ah well. They toy will look good. Pointless, but good.

Give it a cannon and I'll be fine with it. Keep it looking like that and...I'll see it anyway.

There's always the chance it's his Cybertronian form...

This:

looks a bit like the concept art, and is seemingly coated in ice... so there's a chance that it's an early pre-upgrade form... ?

I don't think there will be an upgrade.

This is going to be a film about robots that transform - strange aliens that just do anything with cool sliding transforming bits.

the Only thing that will tie it to 'Transformers' TM is some place holder names.

That megatron looks great - what on earth it has to do with megatron, or anything else is beyond me.

rubbish.

huh.

I swear i have kicked this guys ass in Soul Calibre...

I think the thing that i don't quite get is that... well, i just don't see the need to go that far from the original concepts, Don and EJ Su have already proven that you can update these ideas to 'work' without losing too much of the spirit of the original, so this vast departure from what most people think of as TFs just seems unneccessary.

Then again, i wasn't originally a fan of organic web shooters...

So far, the only thing that even remotely resembles anything specific to Transformers is Prime's head. And that's it.

You could label this the new Gobots movie . You could label it the new Robotix. You could label it the new Gundum.

I was expecting this to not be our Transformers, but to this degree???

Yeah, I've gotta say, I'm pretty worried about these designs. I don't want to push the panic button, but my finger is hovering.

What Emmerich did to Godzilla Bay is doing to Transformers.

I pray this is not an accurate comparison. Because what they did to Godzilla....I still haven't recovered.

exactly what yaya said.

These robots could be anything, from any sci-fi from any place. Why such a massive departure?

look at that Optimus model - there was loads of talk about the robots looking 'real' - ok no mass changing etc... but these new robots dont even look like thier alt modes, the only way I can work out how they transform is that they have hundreds of tiny sliding panels - im sure that will look really nifty in special effects but it doesnt convey large bulky robots to me.

im thinking all the effects will look like a cross between gundam style bots and Mistques skin 'transformation' from x-men...

I think you're on to something there. I mean, the only possible way for that Megatron to transform would be the way Mystique "transformed" in X-men, as you say.

Might as well be called "Morphers".

Wow...... just wow. I thought it couldn't get any worse than Starscream, but I was wrong. serously what the F*** is that, that is NOT Megatron! :sheba: They want ther TF's to look "real" ok fine, but don't make them look sentinals from the Matrix.
Autobots transform and........... wait what was I saying again? Dude Roddimus I'm so baked right now.

That's SO not Megatron! Megatron is a gun! Or a tank! Or a sports car. Or a stealth bomber. Or a T-Rex. Or a robot T-Rex. Or a dragon. Or a fist. Or a jet. Or a batmobile looking racer.

You know what, Megatron's looked so different over the past 20 years, I'm really not in a position to complain.

Well guys, you do know that officials from both the movie and Hasbro have both said that this stuff is "early conceptuals that will change a lot before they're finished".

So I'm thinking that it might be a similar phenomenon to Transtech/Armada, whereas all tho some elements where continued into the Armada, they were so heavily modified that they were only barely recognisable from the alien beings of Transtech. :o

Am I the only one still thinking positive enough to still hope for this?

I doubt your going to see a complete change tho to be honest, a few extra panels here and there perhaps.

I would like that those few panels to fall onto the creators of that aberration (and them being a couple of tons heavy).

I was looking at a street lamp today, and you know what it reminded me of?

You guessed it.

Megatron.

I dunno, I don't think it's too bad, obviously nothing like any Megatron seen before. Looks more like the Guyver.
