Movie Prime Partial Robot Mode Leak

Post by Brendocon » Wed Aug 16, 2006 9:16 am

Certain TF fan sites have posted partial images of CGI Optimus Prime's Arm and Head off of the new movie. Not sure how legit they are, but obviously Paramount/Murphy/Bay will hunt down and kill the families of anybody who posts these pictures if they turn out to be.

Ergo, I'll leave it to those of you with the adequate Web Fu to go a-looking for them before they disappear FOREVER.

Prime's had his eyes obscured CCTV style to protect his identity, though. :(
Grrr. Argh.

Ooh, purty stuff.

Someone over at that place where the pics have been posted and discussed just asked:

Which has got to be the most pointless and redundant question I think I've read ever.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

I suppose so, the chances of Hasbro bringing out non-transforming toys to promote their Transformers movie seems incomprehensible but that's not to say they wouldn't do it.

I'm fully expecting a range of movie-accurate statue things, in the vein of SCF or Titaniums or whatever. At the very least as a supporting line.

But yeah, you'd hope the main line would transform. Though if they're trying to manufacture toys based off the "realistic" models created for the movie, I'm scared of another bunch of Kup/Galvatron uglies. :(

Looks like these are genuine, possibly leaked by the video game company.

Interesting. My head's all ****ed by reading 1,000 posts saying "FLAMING PR1ME SUCKZ0RZZ!!!11one" but I'm still strangely enthused.

As long as he doesn't transform like the BB we saw (meaning the cab is his body and the arms/legs fold out from underneath out like a spider's ) I can live with it. But please, have the windows on his chest. Even Laser Rod OP hase those. It's a must for the classic look.

I'm still trying to figure out why two warring factions of giant, uber strong robots with laser guns would leave huge sections of exposed inner workings and wires on their bodies o.O

Its classic! - the producers like Don M etc spent ages saying that these robots have to be realistic etc.. so no shape changing blah... but at the same time they leave vital parts exposed!

After millions of years of war you woul;d have thought that they would have got this idea across...

Maybe they'll wear very thick wooly jumpers or something.

They're gonna look like Jonny 5 with bits of car stuck to them :(

Although there is some speculation that the arm shot was mid-transform and the panels will fold back to form the amour plating......doesn't look likely though does it?

Whilst thats a good bit of robot desing, it doesnt say Optimus to me.

It says Gundam or somthing else, OPs orginal build design has a clever ethos, his pose, square body, and lack of flashy design makes him the superman of Transformers. Hes ever so much more the father figure...

This nes design is all flash, glitz and far east influence - its well done but what kind of impression does it give u? what message does he send out upon first glance?

Am I to picky?

Nah, I prefer my Transformers to retain an unambiguous amount of their alt-form in robot mode too.

This Prime is too much little red'n'blue panels and wheels, and no grill or cab window.

There's really not that much that says "this robot turns into a kenworth style semi." Not to me, anyway.

Nope, don't like it.

So far, the full body pics of these Transformers, particularly Prime and Bumblee, remind me of General Grievous without his cloak.

Too thin, too lanky (and after Pat Lee, I never thought I'd be saying this.)

And have you seen those pics of what's supposed to be Starscream. For ****s sake, what was wrong with his original face?
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

Yeah thats where ive seen this before!

They dont look like big hulking robots to me - im sure they are agile in these forms but they lack weight.
