Ohhh. Wasn't expecting this. Cheers Karl.

Liam Sharpe is named on the front cover. So, is it the original series plus the first DHII series?

Death's Head: "Death's Head Mini-series, No. 1-4", "Maxi-series, No. 1-12" (Paperback)
odd... didn't the original DH comic only have ten issues, not twelve? (assuming that's what they mean by maxi-series).

You're right, unless they've tagged on some of his additional mini appearances into that category too maybe.

I'd guess all that stuff would be in there- certainly I'd be amazed if they left out Dragon's Claws. I'd imagine it'd more-or-less be a reprint of the Incomplete Death's Head (which I believe was twelve issues) minus the DHII filler- that included Dragon's Claws, Highnoon Tex, Doctor Who, Fantastic Four etc.

It'd be nice to see The Body In Question turn up in print too :)

The Body in Question is one of my most prized possessions. It's great this is finally coming out as a collected edition (again), I won't have to get my comics dirty.

I'm gonna get these..... be nice to have them in handy volumes. Anyone who hasn't read Death's Head's solo comic, I heartily recommend these... action packed and often hilarious.

Actually, that FF issue was the only Death's Head story (that wasn't in Incomplete.... :) Well, taht and Body in Question, naturally. They could put into the collection that What if... issue, too. But... Why is it only 198 pages? That's like 9 regular issues. I smell "Greatest hits".

On the side note: old Captain Britain! Might as well buy it for the completeness sake. Or not, seeing as it is not on US amazon. Hmm.

The Death's Head issue guest-starring the FF, or the FF issues guest-starring DH?

I remember the DH issue being in Incomplete, but the FF issues were definitely not, as, in DH's personal chronology, they hadn't happened yet.

Frankly, "The Incomplete Death's Head" series and the repugnant DH2 comics are just as awful.

I still wuv Death’s Head...

Pity Amazon doesn't lump those two together as a special offer. :(

Ah but they have! Buy DH and DH3 together save something or other. But frankly anyone who'd buy DH3 should be steralised for the good of humanity. Easily the worst thing of Furman's I've read by a long way.

... off the list price.

Ie not the price Amazon would normally charge you.

They always advertise that - "buy this with that and save lots!" but they still charge you the regular price. There's no actual extra saving for buying both together.

I think Amazon.com knock a bit extra off if you buy the recommended partner thing, but the UK site just charge you their regular price.

No, but I'm just familiar with Amazon's misleading advertising strategies.

I'm not even sure why they're bothering collecting Unatural Yawn- A story that sold so badly it killed the comic.

Great googley moogley! Me too thought it was gonna be the new Not-so-Amazing Fantasy version TPB... might gonna get it, seeing as how hard it would be to get the original DH comics...

Well, mine finally arrived on the weekend.

Joy leading to slight ambivalence would be the emotion I felt when, after double-taking on the title of the book in my hands, and the title on the invoice/web/etc. I noticed the discrepancy.

The ordered item being Death's Head: "Death's Head Mini-series, No. 1-4", "Maxi-series, No. 1-12" (Paperback), the arrived item being Death's Head Volume 1.

First thoughts, they'd sent me the wrong thing, but a little delving showed that it was indeed the right one. It'd just been misleadingly named everywhere. (thanks ISBN!)

So, right book, wrong name. Content? Well...

Post-Transformers only, so starting with the one-page High Noon Tex, then diving straight into a colour reprint of Crossroads in Time (Doctor Who #135, or more likely, the Marvel UK Summer Special, where it was first reprinted in colour!), followed by Dragon's Claws #5 (including cover!), then on to the main event Death's Head #1-7 with covers, no kandicard required.

This one eagerly anticipates the release of Volume 2. If only to see how they fill the space beyond #10.

Oooh, cool. Feels like they might actually collect all Death's Head's apeearances.

Is it really the size of US comics like it said?

Hopefully by reprinting The Body In Question, or is that hoping for too much? Besides that then there's the handfull of more 'mainstream' crossovers that happened (like the She-Hulk one for example)... then it starts going downhill with DHII...

Sounds like a worthwhile purchase.

Fingers crossed on The Body In Question.

Yup.

Only had up to #6 in comic form, so, aside from once finding a site with all the Incomplete scans, this was my only way past the immovable object, so to speak, yes?

And talking of Incomplete, it's interesting that they had the Doctor Who story about Keepsake in that, when, from a purely DH point of view, it's just background filler. Echoing along with the She-Hulk story, I hope they also put the Marvel Comics Presents - The Deadliest Game in, but the Doctor Who story about Maruthea (obviously a play on H2G2's Magarathea) can be left aside without fear.

Thinking about it, it's likely that whoever put the initial title out for Volume 1 was probably only aware of DHII, as #1-4 followed by #1-12 would most likely make the #1-16 of DHII's run.

Oh well, we'll see when we see.

Insightful Foreward by Simon Furman, btw.
