As confirmed at San Diego's ComiCon International this evening, Optimus Prime will be played by Peter Cullen, the voice of the original G1 cartoon Optimus Prime.

I'm gonna need a new set of t's and boxers, and pants. And a sweater, and I'm going to have to burn my shoes.. I'll be needing a new coat too... Gonna have to cut off all my hair too.

That makes me smile
Not that Gary Chalk isn't fabulous, I truly love Peter Cullen's voice. I'm very pleased.

excellent stuff.
I bet Peter's glad about it, he's not done much apart from the odd advert for years now! One last glowing bow
Be fabulous if Frank is involved, the only human voice I've heard him do from about the last ten years is Freddy in Scooby Doo, other than that it's 99% animals.

When asked why Cullen was chosen, the producer mumbled "death threats" and "That's a pretty powerful motivator, don't you think?"

OMGz0rs, this will totally compensate for the script being awful and the effects being dodgy!!!1111o1one

Frankyl, I could do without Cullen if the script was good. But seeing as the script is total ***, Peter's voice won't do much if all he has to say as OP will suck...
