Super God MasterForce out in the UK on Monday

Metrodome wrote:Dear Transformers fans,

the long awaited second part of Transformers: The Takara Collection (Vol 2) - Super God Masterforce is out next Monday as a 5 Disc boxset!

A genuinely stunning addition to the Transformers Generation One collection, Super God Masterforce showcases a new anime influenced look that provides a unique take on the classic animation style.

The 5 disc set has a collector's booklet by fan Chris McFeely, commentary by Chris on 3 episodes and all new subtitles created especially for this release (thoroughly researched and checked by fans).

And to give you a taster we're podcasting the entire first episode for free - all your need is a pc (broadband recommended), and to follow these instructions below.

To download the episode you'll need a pc or mac and itunes (free to download from www.apple.com/itunes/download/ )

We'll be posting the episodes in 5 segments over five days - with the first two live already and the next segments going live day by day this week.

We recommend that you only do this with broadband.., unless you've got the patience to let 20mb files download through a dial-up connection.

It's very simple to get the podcast - once you've downloaded itunes you can just click on this link

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSt ... =161029793

Alternately you can click on the podcast section of the itunes music store and search for Transformers. Our podcast is listed as being available from Metrodome.

And we also want to let you know about a fantastic competition in conjunction with play.com to win an original piece of signed artwork by our fantastic Masterforce cover artist - Nick Roche. This is a frankly splendid one off framed pencil drawing of Powermaster Prime. To find out how to win visit the Masterforce page on Play.com here

Enjoy!

Masterforce was better imo, the story flowed a bit more and wasn't so hampered by (what felt like) trying to mutate the Western style stories into Japanese anime- by that time that process was complete and they could just get on with the stories. That and Super God Ginrai kicks ass :3

My biggest problem with Headmasters is the way the story skipped around trying to remove the G3 lot and introduce the new (Japanese) characters and storylines. It's often very haphazard and clumsy.

If you've not seen it I won't spoil it for you but Rodimus' exit is just... dumb. Literally.

I agree. Almost as lazy as Convoy's exit..

IMO it really only gets good when the Targetmasters kick in, that also coincides with a noticable rise in the quality of the animation.

Rodimus' exit is staggering... literally "Right I'm bored and off I go. Oh and while I'm gone the Autobots will be led byyyyyyy... {randomly moves finger around in the air until it settles on Fort Max} you, why not. Byeeee!"

o.O

O.o

But yar you're right it does pick up, and some of the stories aren't bad at all. Although I desperately wanted Blurr, Wheelie and Daniel to die.

Fortress is such an uncharasmatic and uninteresting leader too. Seems strange that they wanted to focus so much of the series on him.

Apart from wanting to sell Fort Max toys of course.

The funniest thing about Rodimus' exit is that he buggers off right after what should be the most traumatic series of events to ever hit the Autobots. Talk about 'I can't deal with this right now'.

His therapist probably recommended a break in Florida.

And yar, FM is pretty uninspiring- Magnus is developed better I think... although we all know what happens to him o.O

...yep. He turns white. For some reason. Prime turned black when he snuffed it, Magnus turned white.

I have to say the Blaster/Soundwave fight is the best one I've seen in a TF cartoon so far.

Pity about the "Photoshop from hell" covers especially when you look at the likes of the Pioneer covers.

I will take this as the appropriate juncture to mention that McFeely is a legend, as he has supposedly met my challenge of including the phrase "Mad as a Brick" in a commentary he's recorded for the release of Victory.

Yay for injokes. :)
Grrr. Argh.
