TF:Movie - Product placement...

Post by Impactor returns 2.0 » Tue Jun 13, 2006 12:44 pm

June 10, 2006 - SPOILER ALERT! According to a review of leaked script from The Movie Reporter Michael Bay's upcoming
Transformers movie is more for sale than meets the eye.

It looks like many of our favorite home electronics could make special Transformer-style cameos. According to the website's synopsis of a leaked script of the movie,
"For reasons that I won't get into we see an I-Pod, X-Box 360 and Plasma screens sprout legs and transform just a bit."
If this scene makes it into the final movie we're sure it will draw more groans from the audience than move units off the shelves.

Groans indeed. Groan, groan, groan.

I have no problem with product placement, just with making them transform for the sake of having them transform.

It would be much better to see Jazz upload someone's iPod into his audio cortex to see what's going on in music and then have him singing some cheesy pop stuff. Or a transformer try to communicate with a plasma or a 360, like the Autobots used to be with cars during the early comics.

Erm, Impy that's really old news, and apparently IGN simply picked it up from somewhere. I've read it before on Seibertron. Hope it's untrue, of course...

Product placement?

Megatron will transform into a Big Mac.

A special 'Big Meg' product range is already being developed.
