IDW news round-up [one shots, BW profiles, Stormbringer]

Hooks blagged some info from someone attending the Bristol Comics Expo:
"Simon Furman sort of announced at Bristol a series of Transformers one-shots, each focusing on a different character, to accompany the Infiltration/Escalation/Stormbringer series.
And the first two subjects are SHOCKWAVE and NIGHTBEAT."
http://www.bwtf.com/forums/showpost.php ... ostcount=1
Further to what was mentioned in BW #4 about a future mini-series to follow The Gathering and a profile series, Ben Yee adds:
Hi folks,
This project is still in the works and not due out for a bit, so I can't give the farm away. Just wanted to offer some factoids:
* I am writing a Beast Wars profiles book with Simon Furman (some folks wondered if it was some *other* Ben Yee).
* Issue #1 of the BW mini gives you a hint as to whether Japanese characters will be in the books.
* The profiles will NOT just be the guys (and gals) who appeared in the TV show (because that would be one very thin book).
* There will be G1 homages and yes, characters (who became BW characters) in the book such as Grimlock. However, they are in the minority.
* This is not some haphazard assembly of characters. Before writing a single profile, Simon and I worked up an entire backstory for the Maxies and Preds taking the TV show and Beast Machines (to a lesser degree) into account.
I hope you all enjoy what you see as time goes along. We are trying to produce something cool with these profiles. If I can reveal more (or even better, hopefully IDW themselves reveal more in the coming months) I'll post it on the front page or in here.
More characters for Stormbringer revealed:

Sounds fantastic. I can't wait for this. IDW, with these one-shots you are really spoiling us
Hooks apparently got the information here:
http://forums.millarworld.tv/index.php? ... &hl=furman
and er, forgot to credit his source.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

I saw that yesterday as well. I flicked away from that thread to see if any of the TF sites were carrying better info, to find just that goss quoted word for word everywhere and no mention of Millarworld.
Apart from the IDW thread of course.
Anyway, pass on Blaster plz. C'mon, Cindersaur....
PS ATR sez each one-shot will be by a different artist.

Do you have IDs on them all? I don't recognise the greenish guy with the sword and I'm not certain of the chap top left either.
Nice to see the other D-Con Pretenders tho, and mixing details from the modes is certainly an intriguing touch.

[left to right]
Skullgrin(?), Bomb Burst, Ignanus, Carnivac, Bludgeon.

I'd suggest Bugly for the first from left.
Iguanus / Finback (colours more like Iguanus, head more like Finback.

Thanks!
Now you've said Bludgeon it fairly stands out to me. Sword, treads, cannon, mostly green, shape of those pauldron things on his waist (or whatever they are called).
Cheers.

Second is certainly Finback though Bugly's colour scheme seems to combine both orignal robot and shell. Cheers for the link Osku.
